According to a recent article from Fortune, Amazon employees are becoming a flight risk in response to the company’s new RTO mandate. Research indicates growing frustration among workers, despite a top executive's claim that 90% of employers are “happy” with the new policy. As some companies push for RTO, how many employees are quietly updating their resumes and exploring new opportunities? Some people may leave simply because they find a job that is closer to them if they have to RTO. What kind of numbers can we expect in the next 4-6 months of employees quiet-quitting and getting a new job once it becomes available? Remote & Hybrid workers, I want to hear from YOU in my inbox. If your current employer told you its time to get back in the office are you updating your resume and looking elsewhere? https://lnkd.in/e3eS_D3R #GhostJobs #CareerInsights #RemoteWork #Amazon #JobSearch #FutureOfWork #LinkedInCommunity #RemoteJobs #IndustryStandards #CareerOpportunities #Innovation #JobMarket #BreakTheNorm #BuildYourOwn #StartupJourney #FutureOfWork
Ghost Jobs
Information Services
Exposing false job postings that have been manipulating us into applying for roles they have no intention of filling.
About us
I started this page in order to shed light on some things I have noticed in the industry, specifically in Tech. You guys know exactly what I am talking about. You apply for a job posting, wait days or weeks, don't hear back, and see the same job posted a month later. Or you apply for a job and go through 7+ rounds of interviews only for the generic email that says they hired someone better. Yet a similar role is available two months later. Jobs are receiving hundreds (sometimes thousands) of applications but somehow couldn't get the right candidate for the position. My goal here is simple, expose the companies engaging in what are known as ghost jobs so that we can give some power back to the workers. If you find out a job has been recently doing this wouldn't you want to know before you get your hopes up and hit "Apply"? We need to bring transparency back to the workforce and I believe this is one way to do it. Now the truth is I can't do this alone, I need your help to find these companies practicing in this way. If you believe there is a company out there doing this send me a message here so I can go and look into it and publish what I found. If you believe Company A is posting a "Role" tell me about the role and when you applied. The best part is you do not have to be concerned about being publicly blacklisted from the company or similar companies because I don't post who submitted the tip. Let this page be a way for you to expose these companies and their deceptive practices without the fear of a career freefall. I will for now focus on tech but I will look into any industry that is engaging in this practice. I hope that this page can be a service to you all and hope to hear from you soon!

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Blizzard Entertainment just lay off over 400 people a couple months ago?

Alright so a pretty big milestone! In just a short period of time we have now 70 members that follow the page. I just want to say thank you guys so much for the follow and please continue to invite more people so we can build a strong community of those who want to know more about ghost jobs. For everyone that is new here, I created this page with a few goals in mind. 1. Expose companies both Big and Small that engage in what are known as ghost jobs or fake jobs. 2. Expose companies to other deceptive practices and mistreatments of their employees. 3. Promote both excellent companies and employees and highlight how people can get the jobs they want in this market. I would like to clarify that it is sometimes difficult to expose a company for posting ghost jobs. I have been using a method to figure out when companies are doing it. I want to continue to encourage people to message me even if I don't necessarily post the company immediately. Some of the messages I have received have been about jobs posted recently. Usually, I go and research the company and see if there has been a pattern of this behavior for an extended period of time. Usually, 3-4 months because at that point they have received several thousands of potential applications. If I haven't seen a pattern yet I keep them in mind and continue to monitor them. So please don't get discouraged if I don't immediately post them. I really appreciate the feedback you guys give. #indiedev #gamedev #JuniorJobs #JobRequirements #CareerAdvice #NewGraduates #EntryLevel #JobSearch #StartupLife #Founders #Entrepreneurship #CareerGrowth #WorkLife #IndustryStandards #CareerOpportunities #Innovation #JobMarket #BreakTheNorm #BuildYourOwn #StartupJourney #FutureOfWork #Empowerment #GameIndustry #GameDev #EntryLevel #Jobseekers #Hiring #Recruiters #Love #Graduate #Jobs #Resource #Community #Network #OpenToNetwork #Internship #techjobs

I am curious if the games industry is going to reach a point where companies cannot fill roles because people are no longer willing to relocate due to the fear of uprooting their family's livelihood just to be laid off. One story that has stuck with me was one dev moved their family for his new role and four months in, he was part of a general layoff, no warnings or anything. Many people I've talked to after being burned by these layoffs have stated they'll never move for another job again. Anyone have a similar experience / feeling? Do you think we will see a new wave of remote roles with companies reversing RTO if this is the case? Remote with limited travel for company events? I'd love a recruiters perspective of what they've witnessed in the hiring process with the amount of layoffs that have happened, do things seem the same on your end or has there been a noticeable trend? #videogames #gamedev #gamesindustry

Dear Games industry: It's not me, it's you I know it's you because .. there's no way I can go from being a QA team member that several teams were literally fighting for me, while I helped close out the 10-year Light/Darkness Saga of one of the largest AAA multiplayer FPS games to... Nothing? No jobs? I didn't think I'd have to leave already but that day is fast approaching. Hopefully I can be back real soon.

Hey, gang I am very sad to have to make this post but I want to warn you all that there are many scams going around impersonating recruiters from That's No Moon and are trying to get people to buy computer equipment from them. If someone named "Emily Clark" or "Brian Catton" claims to be recruiting for That's No Moon, they are scammers. Please do not interact with these people. I was informed by our actual HR manager that these scams have been happening a lot lately. No company would make you buy your own equipment or sign up to a Discord server. I feel terrible for people that are getting their hopes up only to be scammed this way. Please be vigilant!
