November 15 is World Philanthropy Day which celebrates charitable activities around the globe. On this special day, we want to celebrate our recent recognition by the Denver Business Journal with a Partners in Philanthropy award for our exceptional commitment to corporate giving and community service. Philanthropy and community involvement are foundational components of GH Phipps’ company culture. We are especially proud of our 1-60-1952 volunteer program established in 2012 to celebrate our 60th year in business. The program challenges GH Phipps employees to volunteer annually with at least 60 unique organizations (to coincide with our 60th anniversary) across 1952 hours (a nod to the year GH Phipps was founded). Since its inception, we have exceeded our pledge with an average of 86 organizations assisted and 2,775 hours worked. #WeBuildItWednesday | Kula Sports Performance Headquarters Our Special Projects group recently completed a 22,000-square-foot tenant renovation for the Kula Sports Performance Headquarters. Kula Sports Performance is a training facility designed for all levels of athletes including professional athletes like Christian McCaffrey, Anna Hall, and Janine Beckie, as well as several college and high school sports teams. They use scientific principles and proven methods designed to improve athleticism and develop speed, agility, explosive power, coordination, and strength. The renovated headquarters brings Coach Brian Kula’s unique training system to athletes in a refreshed, modern space. This renovation project included renovating the existing gym space, private offices, and locker rooms along with updates to the existing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Recently, GH Phipps conducted a safety education “Stop the Drop” session at our Galen College of Nursing project in Aurora. Our HSE Manager, Matt Paull, led the training of over 150 craft people. Hector Tabares with OSHA and Matt Schmidt at 3M/Shur Sales also addressed the group and appreciated getting started on this task force and training. Demonstrations included numerous tethering accessories for multiple tools. Did you know that if the tool or object weighs more than five pounds, you should not attach it to oneself, but rather to a structure? A video of dropped objects was also presented- for example, a six-foot 2x4 dropped from over 30 feet has over 14,000 pounds of force. Four topics covered were: 1. Housekeeping 2. 👏 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗘👏 We're honored to have been recognized Saturday night with an Associated General Contractors of Colorado ACE Award in the Contribution to the Community category for our work on the 𝟵/𝟭𝟭 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸! Located adjacent to Poudre Fire Authority’s (PFA) Station #3 in City of Fort Collins, CO the memorial centerpieces a 3,059-pound steel I-beam recovered from the wreckage site of the World Trade Center in New York City and gifted to the Poudre Fire Authority in 2015 in honor of the 64 Coloradoans, including nine firefighters from the PFA, that were deployed to assist with search and recovery as part of the Colorado Task Force 1-Urban Search and Rescue team. Three hundred and forty-three rectangular shaped paving stones create pathways to the memorial, representing the 343 firefighters who perished in the attacks. Members of our team put pen to paper this week, writing personalized notes in more than 250 holiday greeting cards to be sent to deployed and local U.S. servicemembers this holiday season as part of 98.5 KYGO Tracy and Fizz’s 10,000 for the Troops. #WeBuildItWednesday | Denver Public Library Central Library This past weekend, Denver Public Library celebrated with guests and dignitaries as they unveiled and cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Central Library branch. A project that has been eight years in the making and four years in construction. The library’s signature hallway, grand staircases, and the Park View Event Space are of note as they were the most challenging (and rewarding) aspects of the renovation. Those in attendance were library staff, construction and design associates, and many guests; notably Senator John Hickenlooper who shared his enthusiasm for the re-opening of this cultural centerpiece. Today, we are thrilled to welcome GH Phipps Construction Companies, whose team, in collaboration with the CTE Construction Pathway Program students, has helped build homes together with our future Habitat homeowners. Their role in placing trusses and installing windows has given our students hands-on construction experience and opened their eyes to different pathways into the construction industry. GH Phipps offers valuable pathways for individuals interested in construction careers. Their internships and apprenticeships, including those for our CTE program graduates, are instrumental in shaping the future of our students. We were equally excited to have Dr. Pilch join us at Hope Springs, and her efforts have created unique opportunities for students from low-income and high-barrier households, connecting them with community partners like GH Phipps. Dr. Pilch's exceptional leadership, recognized with the CASE Superintendent of the Year for Colorado award, has been pivotal in developing the CTE program. This program, which allows students to earn college credit for free through a partnership with Aims Community College, is a significant step toward their future careers. These partnerships have truly opened doors for our CTE students, often leading to internships, job opportunities, and new perspectives on different career paths. We want to take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Pilch and our fantastic #communitypartners like GH Phipps for their unwavering commitment to these students and their support of our mission. Along with their dedication to volunteering, we also thank GH Phipps for their generous Foundation donation!
