This morning, GH Phipps dropped off two truckloads of arts, crafts, and activity supplies to Children's Hospital Colorado. For over 20 years, this donation drive has been one of our employee-owners’ favorite annual activities. It is an honor to give back to our community in a simple but powerful way. A huge thanks to our accounting department for the drive’s coordination and to the employee-owners at the Yard for storing and delivering the donations in such timeless and classic style.

Our Concrete Operations Manager, Mike Eads, recently attended and participated in a panel at the 2024 National Renewable Energy Laboratory's Cement and Concrete Decarbonization Meeting. The meeting brought together leading professionals to discuss more sustainable options to replace cement production and concrete use. Cement production accounts for eight percent of global carbon emissions. #WeBuildItWednesday | District 49 Transportation Center As the fastest-growing school district in Colorado, District 49 needed a new transportation center to support the district’s future growth and current needs. GH Phipps completed the new 34,000-square-foot facility in time for the 2024-2025 school year. The building features a maintenance shop with nine bus bays, administrative space, a flexible training room large enough to hold all staff members but can separate into smaller rooms, and space for all 175 buses with room for more. Energy efficiency played a role in the design with solar tubes on the roof and LED-lighting throughout. Built with longevity in mind, the D49 Transportation Center will help the district serve students in the Pikes Peak region for decades. Thank you to our partners RTA Architects and Wember! #WeBuildItWednesday | Johnson Junior High School Library The GH Phipps Wyoming team recently completed renovations at the Johnson Junior High School library in Cheyenne for Laramie County School District #1. The demolition and renovation of their 5,200-square-foot library space occurred over the summer break and included important HVAC, fire suppression, and audio-visual/data upgrades.
