Kicking off the week with a very impressive work anniversary. Congratulations to Ed who is celebrating 24 years at GIE this month! Best part about your job? Collaborating with clients in the industry to identify marketing solutions that lead to rewarding, long-term relationships. I have also been blessed to work with an incredible supporting staff of GIE colleagues over the years. Favorite memory of working at GIE? Enjoyable time spent at trade shows with both GIE co-workers and clients. I have visited some great venues and have attended some exciting functions that allow you to get closer to customers and teammates. Hobbies/how you enjoy spending time outside of work? Golfing, playing guitar and watching sports events with friends. Thanks for all that you do Ed!

Congratulations to Kim who is celebrating 11 years at GIE this month! Best part about your job? I love being on-site at the various events we host. I spend most of my day behind the computer screen working with so many different people as we prepare for the events. Meeting and talking with the people I usually only see as text on a screen in a face-to-face environment is such a wonderful experience. I also really enjoy the camaraderie and atmosphere when I set up an event with my team on-site. We spend so much time together in the office working out the little details, so being able to see all of the hard work we put into an event come together on-site with the people I work so closely with makes me really proud to be a part of this team. Favorite memory of working at GIE? Last year, 2 of my teammates and I were driving down to our Scrap Expo event, it was a long drive, but it was so much fun just spending the time just chatting and goofing around on the drive down, making jokes and just enjoying the company. Greatest accomplishment/something you are proud of during your time here at GIE? In the middle of COVID 2021 we had to rapidly switch some of our events from in-person to a live-virtual format with little warning. We had about a month and a half to get everything ready to go, which meant onboarding a new software platform, getting all of the graphics ready, speakers prepped, sponsors confirmed on top of learning a completely new system within a short amount of time. As the resident conference technology person, I ended up spearheading this project on the conference side of things and even with the short turnaround time and countless late nights we were able to put on an event we could be proud of. It was a super hectic month and a half but being able to launch an entirely different type of event on completely new software was definitely a labor of love and very gratifying in the end. Thanks for all that you do Kim.
