GKG kicked off the month of June by sparking some energy. We all came together for our sixth bi-annual team summit... and talk about Return On Investment! It was a week filled with valuable connection, appreciation, recognition, team building, and growth. Our team is what has powered us for 120 years and enables us to make a Far From Ordinary impact for our clients and community. In 2023, GKG acquired The Burns Agency in Clinton, New York. The Burns Agency was founded in 1919. The official founding date, however, is unknown (we’ve searched!) which means that we have not had an official "anniversary" date to celebrate.   Today, May 3rd, is the birthday of the late David J. Burns – and we think it’s the perfect day to honor the history of The Burns Agency!   Dave joined the family business in 1977 and later served as president of the firm until his passing in September 2022. The acquisition in 2023 brought together two firms with over 220 years of combined history in Central New York and demonstrated the commitment of both to the community. Today, The Burns Agency is a division of GKG.   We are proud to continue Dave’s legacy and the legacy of the Burns family.

As we celebrate Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy's 120th anniversary, we are also celebrating leadership transitions that position GKG for the future as a fourth-generation business! Lawrence T. Gilroy III (Larry) was the 3rd generation to join the company in 1985 and he has served as president since. Effective immediately, he will move to the role of Chief Executive Officer, passing the role of President to his son, Lawrence T. Gilroy IV (Tom) and promoting Megan Gymburch to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ekjaUCkC
