The tragic loss of innocent lives in the recent terrorist attack on a bus in Reasi is a stark and painful reminder of the cowardice that defines such heinous acts. Targeting unarmed civilians reveals the true moral bankruptcy of these perpetrators. These attacks aim to spread fear and disrupt peace, but they only highlight the depths of their cowardice. Reasi is not just any place for me; it is my home , where I grew up surrounded by the Himalayas. This tragedy hits particularly close to my heart. It’s devastating to see innocent lives lost in such a senseless act. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. It’s crucial that we, as a community, talk about these tragedies and ensure they are not forgotten. By keeping the conversation alive, we honor the memories of those lost and reinforce our collective commitment to fighting terrorism. We at Giri Foundation just completed a groundbreaking five-day workshop in Ludhiana with Vardhman Textiles and as someone who hails from the mountains myself, I'm profoundly moved by what we've accomplished. Our mission was clear and ambitious: to transform lives through skill training and open new doors for women from the Himalayan regions of Jammu, like the exceptional Sonia ji and her colleagues. Growing up in the Himalayas, I understand the obstacles faced by our communities—limited opportunities for advancement and the constant battle against economic stagnation. That's why, at Giri Foundation, we recognized the untapped potential in women determined to forge a new path toward financial independence. Seeing them evolve into certified master trainers in knitting and crochet at Vardhman’s training center has been truly inspiring. These women have done more than just learn new skills; they've mastered the ability to transform their crafts into viable, market-ready products. Now certified, they are equipped to return to their communities, spread their knowledge, and empower other women to take control of their futures. I am immensely thankful for the unwavering dedication of our team at Giri and the Vardhman experts who have mentored these women every step of the way.
