Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
About us
Girl Scouts is the largest nonprofit organization proven to prepare girls for a lifetime of leadership. Girl Scouts of the USA charters the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN) Council to administer the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in 24 counties in New York and two in Pennsylvania. GSNYPENN has a membership of over 14,000 girls in grades K-12 and adult volunteers. We build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place through girl-led experiences, skill-building opportunities, a connection to supportive adults and an inclusive community.

Meet Paloma Sarkar! 🤩 She’s been a GSNYPENN Board Member for two years. Paloma works as an enterprise risk manager at Pathfinder Bank. She hopes to bring her financial knowledge to our board, so our council remains financially sound to support our mission and vision. She believes it’s a privilege to serve and make a difference. Born and raised in India, she says she saw and experienced gender gaps, especially in rural areas, which makes her service even more important. She believes we have a historical obligation and responsibility to help create equitable spaces in this world for youth and women. She sees so much confidence and courage in the youth she has met through Girl Scouts and that makes her proud and happy to be involved. Thanks for your support, Paloma! 💚
