About us
Girl Scouts is the largest nonprofit organization proven to prepare girls for a lifetime of leadership. Girl Scouts of the USA charters the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN) Council to administer the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in 24 counties in New York and two in Pennsylvania. GSNYPENN has a membership of over 14,000 girls in grades K-12 and adult volunteers. We build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place through girl-led experiences, skill-building opportunities, a connection to supportive adults and an inclusive community.

SWE is one of the world’s largest advocacy, education and professional service organizations that empowers women to succeed and advance in engineering. Four GSNYPENN troops came together to present the color guard at Karen’s installation ceremony at the Stanley Theater in Utica. Meet Katie MacIntyre! ⭐️ A lifetime Girl Scout, she serves on our GSNYPENN Board of Directors because giving back to the community is important to her. She does this by volunteering her time, energy and skills to our mission. Katie began her Girl Scout leadership journey as a youth member and has been part of our council on and off since 2007! She previously served as a non-board member on the Board Development Committee (BDC) of our legacy council, Seven Lakes. She rejoined the GSNYPENN Board about a decade ago. She currently chairs our BDC and serves as 2nd Vice Chair. Her volunteerism with Girl Scouts also aligns with her employer, National Grid, which encourages all employees to share their time and talents with non-profit organizations in the communities they live, work and play. We can’t thank you enough for your dedication to our mission, Katie! 💚
