Local Scholarship Spotlight 💫✨ The Gina Rose Montalto Memorial Foundation, Inc. honors the memory of Gina Rose Montalto, a lifelong Girl Scout and Silver Award recipient who was tragically lost in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland on February 14, 2018. In her spirit of generosity and passion for Girl Scouting, the Foundation awards a $2,500 scholarship annually to a Gold Award Girl Scout who exemplifies Gina's kind spirit and love of learning and life. Gina's loving parents, Tony and Jennifer, present this award to the recipient at our Gold Award Ceremony. The 2024 recipient, Ella Glassman (#Troop10685), used her Gold Award Project to bridge the gap for high school artists applying to fine arts programs. She created a curriculum tool simplifying applications—covering school evaluations, resumes, essays, portfolios, auditions, and interviews to be used as a guide for students in schools across Broward County.
