About us
The Gladstone School District consists of four schools: Gladstone Center for Children and Families (Pre-K–K), John Wetten Elementary (1–5), Kraxberger Middle School (6–8) and Gladstone High School (9–12). Our schools provide a comprehensive education, including services for infants and preschoolers, technology opportunities at every level, and a full spectrum of career-technical and college credit opportunities in high school. Our district is governed by a seven member school board of elected community volunteers, and administered by Superintendent Bob Stewart. Gladstone is a community with a population of approximately 12,000 people. Its location is just 15 minutes south of downtown Portland. Many of the residents choose to live in Gladstone because of the friendly small-town atmosphere and the strong schools. Gladstone combines the convenience of suburban living with easy access to year-round recreational activities. Our district welcomes transfers from other districts. Gladstone schools benefit from a high degree of volunteerism from parents who assist in classrooms, sponsor special activities, raise money to support school activities and participate in school events. The Gladstone School District wants parents and community members to know that all classroom instructional staff in our district (certified and classified) meet ‘highly qualified’ requirements mandated by the Oregon Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education. If you have any questions regarding the professional qualifications of any staff member, please contact your building principal or visit the TSPC Educator License Inquiry.
