Last week I mentioned an upcoming Glean hackathon. The hackathon we had earlier this week was a unique opportunity to champion GenAI– building on our own product, and pair technical folks with non-technical folks (great tip from Claire Vo & Tamar Yehoshua) to maximize the potential of what can be done with Glean. I’m a builder at heart, so seeing the entire company—from R&D to sales and marketing—come together to build and create was inspiring. The blend of perspectives fueled creativity and led to some really exciting and innovative solutions. It’s something we plan to replicate regularly… I love seeing these ideas come to life and witnessing the efforts of our talented team! If you’re curious about what we were building, sign up for our upcoming event Glean GO: Fall ‘24, and I’ll share more on the hackathon outcomes soon: https://bit.ly/3T0ezF4 For now, enjoy some photos our team captured at our hackathon:

Nobody will remember: -Your salary -Your fancy title -How busy you were -How many hours you worked People will remember: All of the times you broke their flow state just to ask a question that you *𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚* could've Gleaned instead

As an engineer, you’re always looking for ways to increase your productivity in order to ship things faster. We caught up with Lauren Zhu, one of our software engineers working on our AI Assistant to share how she uses Glean to search less and ship more. 🚀 1️⃣ Staying updated on recent and upcoming product launches  Navigating through all of the noise across Slack, Google Drive, and Atlassian Jira can be overwhelming. With Glean, I can quickly get up to speed on all the relevant conversations and documents for a particular feature. 2️⃣ Resolving on-call issues quickly  I always want to speed up the debugging process when I’m on-call. It’s so easy to search in Glean and find the most relevant Atlassian Jira tickets, GitHub PRs, and Slack discussions related to the issue at hand using a prompt like: "How do I debug <Jira server validation error>?" 3️⃣ Finding experts Glean’s expert search helps me identify and connect with internal subject matter experts relevant to any topic. In this case, I was looking for an expert on our LLM providers, and was able to find it quickly to assist with my work on the Assistant! 4️⃣ Developing on our backend Accessing the right information to develop on specific areas of the stack can be a challenge for engineers if we don’t have a full view. I can make a fast and informed decision with Glean parsing through GitHub, Glean Answers, and Confluence to provide code snippets, playbooks, and answers written by other engineers.

It's exciting to see large-scale financial services innovators like DBS Bank make AI real for employees. A GenAI hackathon is a great way to get the AI wheels in motion in an organization. We're hosting a company-wide hackathon early next week at Glean– looking forward to seeing and sharing what comes out of it.

The energy at the recent DBS GenAI Hackathon was electric! ⚡️ Over 200 employees from across the bank, spanning tech and non-tech roles, joined forces to brainstorm how we can harness the power of Generative AI. We're unlocking the potential of our vast enterprise knowledge, making it accessible and actionable for everyone. - Seamlessly searching: Finding the right information instantly, no matter where it's stored. - Contextual insights: Synthesizing diverse documents to gain a deeper understanding. - Time-saving summaries: Getting the key takeaways in a flash, so our folks can focus on what matters.... providing great customer experiences. All this is done through interacting with a chatbot in a natural way to access this knowledge and get answers quickly. The hackathon yielded over 35 innovative ideas, proving that DBS is not only embracing the future of AI, but also empowering our workforce to be key drivers of change. The hackathon took place at DBS Asia X, our Innovation Lab, that has most recently been selected as one of Global Finance Magazine's Best Financial Innovation Labs for 2024.  #DBSBank #DBSTransformationGroup #GenAI #DBSGenAI #Hackathon #AI #Innovation #Teamwork Big thanks to Su Kian, Navin, Peng Fong, Petri Tuomola Luis Carlos Cruz Huertas Shailendra M. Rajeev Hassamal Bidyut Dumra Ronald Chen John, Jian-An Lu Lui Tan Tsze Shin Shuvro Sen and many many more that made this happen
