Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the effects of Hurricane Helene, including those in the communities of Burnsville, NC and Anderson, SC where Glen Raven has operating facilities. Our priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our associates and the communities they live in. With the capabilities of our Glen Raven Logistics team, we were fortunate to provide initial shipments of emergency supplies to Burnsville this morning. Lot's of fun at HQ last week! We enjoyed celebrating our Glen Raven Logistics drivers for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
Last week was a fun week of celebrating our GRL drivers for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week! Our team at the office supplied different treats each day for the drivers – and it’s GRL, so you know we had to have some fun with it! We ended the week with a driver meeting that included breakfast and a special guest appearance from broadcasting legend mick mixon, the former play-by-play radio voice announcer for the Carolina Panthers, who spoke of how he learned the difference between good and great. We are excited to share our global 2023 Corporate Sustainability Report this Earth Day. As part of our commitment to sustaining the planet, here are a few highlights from the report. - 658,344 pounds of recycled raw materials used in Glen Raven products in 2023. - 98.7% of waste diverted from landfill in 2023. - 52% decrease in company carbon footprint from 2019 to 2023, after applying renewable electricity credits (RECs). - 50% use of renewable electricity globally in 2023 through the purchase of RECs. Thanks to our associates and customers for supporting our efforts towards the sustainability goals.
