I am comfortable in front of 20 people or 1,000. As a funny and engaging MC, I also moderate events.
How do I know what I’m talking about? In my long career with IBM I held positions in sales and support, management, technical training, keynote and conference speaking, and event planning. I learned teamwork and leadership by doing it, then shared what I learned with others.
As a managing consultant in IBM’s services and training department I created the themes for IBM’s international conferences, decided on topics for keynote, workshops and breakout sessions, planned the program and even served as the humorous and energetic master of ceremonies.

Among my favorite topics are team building and how to present. My most rewarding moments include when someone sees that public speaking isn’t so scary and they can absolutely do it. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, using humor to teach professional development, and helping them see new possibilities. Improvisational speaking is my specialty and when it comes to encouraging participation, I get even the quietest Q & A session active and engaged.
