About us
The GAP Foundation is joining together leading academic researchers, pharmaceutical companies, nonprofit organizations and foundations, and governments around the world to reduce the time, cost and risk of Alzheimer’s & Parkinson's clinical trials in order to speed innovative medicines to those with or at risk of Alzheimer’s & Parkinson's disease. GAP is a standing, global, trial-ready platform to drive quality, efficiency, equity and innovation in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's Clinical Trials, seeking to reduce clinical testing cycle times by two years or more and to achieve greater trial populations. It is doing that by building large, well-characterized trial-ready cohorts, a network of certified high-performance clinical trial sites, and an adaptive proof-of-concept trial mechanism. Connect with us on our Facebook page, @GlobalALZPlatform, and on Twitter, @GAP_Foundation, where we share updates from our GAP-Network (GAP-Net) and from the volunteers that make it all possible.

“I chose to be part of a Clinical Trial because it is my best chance for my own therapy with Early Onset Alzheimer’s and it will benefit others with the information revealed throughout my Alzheimer’s journey." We are grateful for Bonnie, a #CitizenScientist from #GAPNet site Okanagan Clinical Trials and all who volunteer to help move clinical research forward. https://lnkd.in/gzXSjYUV

The state of Florida just stood up to the assault of Hurricane Helene, followed by Milton, a ferocious one-two punch in the 2024 hurricane season. The Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation® (GAP) is relieved and very grateful that our Florida GAP-Net sites, our Florida GAP partners and our own FL-based GAP team members, are generally safe and out of harm’s way. To be sure, there are homes that experienced significant wind and water damage. Also, clinical trial sites that will have to clean up and repair before they reopen. And we will assist them in any way we can, and ask our sponsors and partners to be patient while we do so. But our people are safe—that is the first order of business. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been affected by Milton and its aftermath. We want to thank all the emergency responders and power and water crews supporting the Florida communities that are digging out of Milton on the heels of Helene. With the collective efforts of everyone, we look forward to resuming the search for therapies for #Alzheimers and related dementias in the near future. #HurricaneMilton #FloridaRecovery #CommunityStrong #StaySafe #StopAlz

“The most rewarding part was that the visits were affecting Chuck in a positive way. The days he came into the clinic he was usually better than normal. He had a positive attitude that he could make it through all the procedures. He appreciated the staff and all the people that worked on the trial with him. I appreciated the knowledge I gained from being in the study with him.” Inspired by #CitizenScientists like Rosetta of #GAPNet site Flourish Research who make research possible. https://lnkd.in/gzXSjYUV

”This clinic is special to me, and I feel it is helping me carry on a very normal life, as I am still very active. I do not feel any anxiety, only positive feelings and vibes from staff in my clinic and from my family! All very supportive!” Great to hear from #CitizenScientists like Judy of #GAPNetsite Kawartha on why she volunteers! https://lnkd.in/gzXSjYUV
