Colorectal cancer biomarkers can provide your medical team vital information about you and your cancer that is used to determine prognosis, guide treatment decisions, monitor treatment response, and look for recurrence after treatment. Biomarkers are also used in drug development to create and test targeted therapies for colorectal cancer. Biomarkers can impact colorectal cancer treatment options. By testing for biomarkers, your medical team can personalize your treatment based on the unique mutations in your tumor, choosing the most effective treatments and helping you avoid unnecessary treatment or side effects. These test results can also connect you with clinical trials testing targeted therapies. Today, on World mCRC Day, we join our international advocacy partners to raise awareness of metastatic CRC (mCRC) and biomarkers, including the impact biomarkers have on mCRC treatment. All patients with colorectal cancer should have biomarker testing, especially patients with mCRC. Cancer biomarkers are changes and mutations in genes, DNA or proteins that are found in blood, tissue, or other body fluids and give your specialist and medical team valuable information about the characteristics of your tumor. Today, on World mCRC Day, we join our international advocacy partners to raise awareness of metastatic CRC (mCRC) and biomarkers, including the impact biomarkers have on mCRC treatment. Nearly 2 million people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer globally each year, and 20-30% of CRC patients have metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis. Metastatic / Stage IV colorectal (bowel) cancer occurs when cancer spreads to another part of the body outside the colon, rectum, and nearby lymph nodes. Today, on World mCRC Day, we join our international advocacy partners to raise awareness of metastatic CRC (mCRC) and biomarkers, including the impact biomarkers have on mCRC treatment. Please join us in welcoming our newest member, Taiwan Young Patients Association (TYPA). Taiwan Young Patients Association (TYPA), feeling that the increasing prevalence of cancer among young people is not adequately addressed by current medical policies and social welfare systems, TYPA is dedicated to creating a "comprehensive support and care system for young patients." This initiative aims to address the gaps in the existing medical and social welfare systems and improve the healthcare environment for young patients. We also aim to enhance awareness among professionals and the general public about the health needs of young people, provide support for young patients throughout their patient journey, and participate in discussions on medical policies. The ultimate goal is to improve the healthcare challenges faced by the younger population and build a healthier Taiwan for the young generation. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/enaYvygp
