Global Glimpse is a nonprofit organization that provides powerful international travel and leadership opportunities to high school students from diverse backgrounds. We build empathy, agency & global perspective. We are the only youth travel organization that places diversity and equity at the heart of our model. Every student who attends one of our partner schools is eligible for a need-based scholarship and last year we provided over $3 million dollars in scholarships to make our program accessible to students from all backgrounds. Our students engage in pre-trip workshops that prepare them to participate in a structured 11-day international experience focused on service-learning, cultural immersion, and leadership development in Panama, Costa Rica, or the Dominican Republic. The Global Glimpse program builds empathy, agency, and global perspective to empower students from all backgrounds to succeed in college and drive change locally and globally. Founded in 2007, over 8,000 students and 500 educators have participated in our leadership development and travel programs. We currently partner with 100 high schools and college preparatory organizations across the SF Bay Area, New York Tri State Area, Greater Chicago, Massachusetts and Los Angeles.

In her first year on the team, Thea has leveraged her experience as a Global Glimpse alumni to connect with both students and families, strengthening partnerships across the Bay. Thea is someone who leads with her whole heart -- she is thoughtful, passionate, and deeply empathetic, and she has gifted our team and work with that relentless care. In addition to her work with Global Glimpse, Thea is a passionate birth worker in her 3rd year as Sr. Childbirth Educator teaching weekly sessions for expecting parents. When she's not teaching, Thea can be found eating delicious vegan food, spending quality time with loved ones, and exploring the great outdoors! We are so excited to celebrate Miguel on his 8th workaversary at Global Glimpse! 🎊 As the International Health and Safety Manager, Miguel works across the organization to ensure the health and safety of all Global Glimpse students, staff, and educators. This past year, he has focused on improving and streamlining our health and safety processes, making Global Glimpse a safer place and a program that can meet the diverse needs of our students. Beyond that, Miguel serves on our Staff International Retreat Committee and consistently creates a safe environment on trips for our staff as well. Outside of work, Miguel is especially grateful for his family, who are his daily source of strength.
