No big surprises in Morning Consult’s fifth annual Most Trusted Brands report… But a few new entries and one interesting finding: 🩹While Band-Aid tops the list as the most trusted brand by Americans, Johnson & Johnson its manufacturing company ranks very low on the list and has tens of thousands of lawsuits against it (allege that its talc-based products cause cancer) 👀 So why is the product so trusted while the parent company is not? Possible explanations are: 1. Licensing - the band-aids are branded with the most trusted brands and characters that resonate with children, and the product enters our lives in a very early stage as a soothing agent. 💄🐷“Putting lipstick on a pig”, as Steven Ekstract would say:) 2. People just don’t know. And why would the end consumer know band-aid is a brand owned by J&J if they are on #tiktok (listed as a trusted brand by #genz ) all day nursing on misinformation?
