Inspiring Start to Fall 2024 at Global Lawyers of Refugees! We're thrilled to welcome our diverse Fall 2024 cohort, bringing together bright minds from UPenn, Princeton, USC, University of Maryland, UVA, and Colby-Sawyer College. 🎓🌍 To kick off the semester, we had the honor of hosting a renowned Human Rights Advocate and regional expert Cecil S Chaudhry. Our guest speaker provided invaluable insights on religious freedom in South Asia, with a focus on several countries in the region. Key highlights from the talk: - In-depth analysis of religious freedom issues in multiple South Asian countries - Overview of challenges faced by various religious groups in the region - Exploration of interstate dynamics and their impact on religious minorities - Discussion of obstacles these communities face in accessing justice and exercising their rights The speaker's approach offered our students a focused and nuanced perspective on the religious freedom landscape in South Asia. We're excited to see how this cohort will leverage these insights to contribute to advancing religious freedom and refugee rights in the region. Stay tuned for updates on their projects and initiatives! #HumanRights #ReligiousFreedom #SouthAsia #GlobalLawyers #RefugeeRights #InterstateDynamics
