The image is misleading. You NEED to offer #languagebenefits to your employees. But your organization might already be offering that benefit without realizing what it's costing you. Consolidating #languagetraining through a single reputable vendor, such as Global LT, ensures a more streamlined process and offers insights into employees' progress and return on investment. Some of the benefits of working with a single vendor include: -Transparency in spend: You'll know exactly who is utilizing the benefits and how much you're spending -One point of contact: Having dedicated account managers means your employees can get into classes as soon as they're ready with no lag time -Scalability: As demand for #languageskills grows within your organization, being able to go back to one vendor who can do it all is the most efficient Want to learn more about the importance of streamlining your language benefits? It's time for another #FunFactFriday! Fijians raise their eyebrows as a way of saying yes. If you ever communicate face-to-face or in a video chat with a Fiji national, don’t be confused if they raise their eyebrow. It is not indicative of judgment or a lack of understanding. Instead, this gesture signifies agreement or a positive response to the topic being discussed.

The #globalskillsgap is the mismatch between the skills employers seek and the skills possessed by the available workforce. As companies expand internationally, they require employees that can navigate diverse cultures, understand market nuances, and communicate effectively across borders. This is why #languagelearning is so important for global expansion. Upskilling and reskilling through language learning equips employees with the necessary skills to adapt to the changing demands of a global workforce. Interested in learning more? At the end of 2021, The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reported that the number of #refugees worldwide was over 27 million people (about the population of Texas). That number didn’t include the millions of people who had been forcibly displaced but not granted refugee status. You should hire them. Why? 1) Increased Diversity and Inclusion: Hiring refugees allows your organization to tap into a talent pool that represents different #cultures, #languages, and experiences. This diversity can foster innovation, creativity, and a broader range of perspectives within your workforce. 2) Strong Work Ethic and Resilience: Refugees often have a strong drive to succeed and are known for their resilience in the face of adversity. Their determination and work ethic can contribute positively to your company's culture and overall productivity. 3) Language and Cultural Skills: Many refugees possess multilingual abilities and a deep understanding of different cultures. This can be invaluable for companies with international operations or those targeting diverse customer bases. 4) Access to New Markets: Hiring refugees can help your company gain a foothold in new markets by leveraging their knowledge and connections in their home countries. This can open doors for expansion and growth opportunities. Still not convinced? Read this: https://hubs.li/Q02GZ42x0

It's the end of the week - that means it's time for #FunFactFriday! In South Korea, you should not write a person’s name in red ink. The color red is traditionally reserved for writing the names of deceased individuals. Using red ink to write someone's name is believed to be a curse, implying the person's death or, at the very least, bringing about extremely bad luck.

Having a #languagebias is negatively impacting your #workforce and profitability and we need to talk about it. According to a study by @Forbes and @RosettaStone Business, U.S. companies expect non-native speakers to have a high level of English competency. Nine in ten respondents (91%) agreed that English fluency is required for high-potential employees who want to win promotions. Language bias can have negative consequences, such as reinforcing stereotypes, limiting opportunities for language speakers, or perpetuating inequality. Recognizing and addressing language bias is essential for promoting fairness, inclusivity, and equal treatment for all languages and dialects. It's good for business and it's good for your employees.
