Africa and the Americas are regions endowed with immense cultural richness, and the Summit is aimed at leveraging these attributes through enhanced tourism cooperation across both continents. At the opening cocktail reception, Kristiana met with Andre M. , Director of EHL Advisory Services; Peter Janech, Coordinator of Innovation, Education and Investments for UN Tourism; International delegates from the Brazilian Tourist Board and delegates from Ethiopia, Zambia and Namibia.

Aligned with the global movement for equality and inclusion, the third year of the Global Wellness Institute’s (GWI) Susie Ellis Scholarship for Equity in Wellness saw over 300 applications from 60+ countries, according to the fund’s creator, Executive Director and Chief Creative Officer NANCY DAVIS. The Global Wellness Summit Advisory Board awarded the 2024 Scholarship to: Cida Ghosn, a Brazilian-Lebanese architect specializing in affordable housing and sustainable design; Linda Kirk, founder of the UK’s Just for Women Centre, supporting mental health for trauma-affected women and girls; and Anna Petrova, a pioneering Ukrainian entrepreneur. Last year’s selectee, Michelle Saudan, founder of Amanzi Wellbeing, will also attend. At a press conference in London on Tuesday, GWI released new data on the United Kingdom’s $224 billion wellness economy by sector. The report is packed with data: from how the UK ranks #1 globally for growth in its wellness market since the pandemic, to how its consumers are spending 31% more on wellness ($3,342/year) compared with 2019, to how the wellness economy represents a growing and unusually large percentage of the total UK economy/GDP, at 7.3%.
