Now, with sustainability at the forefront, these forgotten fibers are making a quiet yet powerful comeback. 🔹 Hemp – Stronger than cotton, resistant to pests, and requires far less water. Once used for sails and ropes, it’s now re-emerging in sustainable fashion. 🔹 Ramie – A linen-like fiber used for over 6,000 years, with natural antibacterial properties. 🔹 Nettle Fiber – Yes, fabric from stinging nettles! This WWII-era substitute for cotton is soft, durable, and eco-friendly. 🔹 Banana Fiber – Known as “Japanese silk,” banana fibers are lightweight, breathable, and naturally glossy. 🔹 Piñatex – A leather alternative made from pineapple leaves, reducing agricultural waste. 💡 Why does this matter?
