Congratulations to Dr. Larry Shannon with the Medical University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, for completing his first VICTORY™ Lumbar Plate System case! Dr. Shannon used the MAS™ ALIF Retractor to gain access to the disc space. He then leveraged the VICTORY™ 3-Hole Sacral Plate over HEDRON IA™ with anchors at L5-S1. He was extremely satisfied not only with how well the VICTORY™ plate fit over HEDRON IA™, but also the low-profile design and the rescue screw offerings. Dr. Shannon is excited to continue incorporating VICTORY™ into his procedures and taking advantage of the combined ALIF portfolio. Dr. Roman Trimba of OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine performed a two-level case to address his patient's adjacent segment disease with severe low back pain and lumbar radiculopathy. The surgical plan consisted of an L3-L4 XLIF™ and L5-S1 ALIF leveraging our Maxcess™ 4 and Supine ALIF access systems. Dr. Trimba utilized our porous titanium (Ti) implants, Modulus™ XLIF™ and Modulus™ ALIF, which are designed to provide a favorable environment for bone ingrowth* while enhancing visualization compared to traditional Ti implants. The patient has reported no pain one year postoperatively and is back to enjoying physical activities! * Preclinical data on file. Data may not be representative of clinical results.
