About us

There are a billion good intentions tucked inside each and every one of us. At GoFundMe, we believe that the impulse to help a person, fix a neighborhood, or change a nation should never be ignored. In fact, it should be shared with the entire world. That’s why we make it easy to inspire the world and turn your compassion into action. By giving people the tools they need to capture and share their story far and wide, we have built a community of more than 200 million donors and helped organizers raise over $15 billion for the causes important to them—and we are just getting started. Check out current job openings, join our team, and be a part of the change below. ## GoFundMe has assembled one of the best management teams in the business to build the next leading consumer Internet company, including leaders from LinkedIn, Groupon, and Google. We are also funded by some of Silicon Valley’s best venture capital firms, including Accel, Greylock, and TCV.

Help Delivered from our partners at GoFundMe.org 💚 This quote comes from someone who received a grant from GoFundMe.org’s Essentials Fund, established to help people pay for basic necessities like food, housing and clothes. This fund is one of many that helps GoFundMe.org quickly mobilize and distribute donations for individuals and communities impacted by crises, natural disasters, and social inequalities. We’re proud to support GoFundMe.org and celebrate another year of impactful work, which you can read all about in the Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Report: https://gfme.co/47d9teH Since 2017, GoFundMe.org has worked with partners and organizations to raise over $166 million across more than 200 funds, delivering 24,000+ grants. Together, with GoFundMe.org and many generous donors, we can show up for people when they need us most and let them know they are not alone.

On the road in support of caregivers 🚌 GoFundMe was a proud presenting partner of the #CareCantWait bus tour, when Caring Across Generations took their mission on a cross-country trip, spreading awareness about how to make caregiving accessible and affordable for all. Kelsea Little, from the GoFundMe Community Engagement team, shared what it was like to be on the 9-city trip: “It was incredibly moving to see so many passionate people come together at every stop along this tour to share their personal care stories, and to spread the message that care is essential. We are so proud that GoFundMe is a place where caregivers can ask for the help they need, and are equally honored to support organizations like Caring Across Generations who are working to make nationwide change.” The trip is over but the work is not. You can continue to support Caring Across Generations on GoFundMe: https://gfme.co/3XfAHO #caregivers #caregiving #caregiversupport #caregivercommunity #careontour

We 💚 Spring, Texas! Our GoFundMe community team was on the road again, this time to thank the locals in Spring for being #1 on our list of the Most Generous Cities in America. The visit happened to fall during the Olympics, and Spring happens to be Simone Biles’ home town! Kelsea Little visited the World Champions Centre, the Biles family’s training gym, to bring a little extra excitement to their Olympics watch parties. Kelsea shared: “I had the honor of representing GoFundMe on-the-ground last week during the Women’s All Around and the All Around Finals to pass out GoFundMe green macarons, co-branded berets (Paris, hello!), and to say thank you to the residents of Spring for showing up for one another so beautifully.” If you want to learn more about GoFundMe’s Most Generous Cities, you can check out the 2023 Year In Help Report: https://gfme.co/3zvlleY And follow us here on LinkedIn, because we’ll share the 2024 list later this year!

Big news: We’re officially live in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Beginning today, GoFundMe delivers a fully localized fundraising experience to those on the island, allowing people and nonprofits to create fundraisers, accept donations, and withdraw funds to their bank accounts. “We are proud to provide the people of Puerto Rico a safe, easy, and powerful way to support the causes and individuals they care about,” said our CEO, Tim Cadogan. “The people of Puerto Rico have a deep-rooted culture of helping one another, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will achieve through GoFundMe, whether it's assisting individuals facing medical emergencies, rebuilding communities after disasters, funding educational scholarships, or supporting local businesses.” More than $50 million has been raised on GoFundMe for Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico-associated fundraisers to date, with significant help delivered following Hurricane Maria back in 2017. With this first expansion into the Caribbean, we’re proud to unlock an easy, safe, and trusted avenue for help as we continue to grow our global community. Thanks to the many people across our organization who made this possible 🙌 Click here to learn more: https://gfme.co/3SMcc8U And if you’re on the island and looking to fundraise, here’s the link to get started: https://gfme.co/4dU6pah

My first National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) conference is in the books! It only took me more than a decade in the journalism business to get here but it was worth the wait. I often heard that the annual National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention and Career Fair is like a family reunion and I felt that. I was able to reconnect with peers and forge new friendships. I'm grateful for the chance to showcase GoFundMe's impactful work, especially our Black Joy initiative, where we highlight fundraisers that affect the African-American community. A huge thank you to my colleagues Ashlie Ouzts, Leigh Lehman and Lili Strasser for helping us host a terrific networking event at the conference as well. Send me a message if you want to work together to tell the amazing stories of our organizers on GoFundMe. #NABJ  #GoFundMe #GFM #BlackJoy #Chicago #ChiTown #Journalism #PublicRelations #Communications #FAMU #FAMUAlum

When wildfires hit Maui, Hawai'i local Kenna Reed wanted to provide trusted aid to the displaced 'ohana of Lāhainā and Kula quickly and directly. After her Google sheet of verified people who lost their homes and livelihoods went viral, she started a fundraiser to raise money to help these people. Reed turned to us to distribute the money. The fund has raised over $800,000 and continues to grow, turning 98.8% of the funds raised into grants for those displaced by the fires and seeking help on the GoFundMe platform. Grants have been distributed equitably as donations came in. In all, nearly 1,300 individual fundraisers received a minimum $400 grant from the Help Maui Rise fund. Today, Kenna and her amazing team at Help Maui Rise continue to provide compassionate and transparent support to families recovering from the wildfires, especially those who are most vulnerable. The fund is still active, as this work is far from over. People impacted by last year’s fires can apply for a grant, and those eligible will be issued grants based on their needs. Kenna and Help Maui Rise are this for the long haul, and we are, too. gofundme.com/helpmauirise
