Wanting to enjoy the summer sun ☀️ and spend time outside 🌳, without getting swarmed by mosquitos and flies? 🦟🚫 Most popular brands of bug spray include ingredients like DEET and Permethrin. These ingredients can have a plethora of negative impacts not only on human health 😷, but on the planet too 🌍. DEET has been known to cause skin irritation, vision problems , and in some cases neurological damage. In addition, the use of DEET bug spray in nature leads to contamination of water sources and ecosystems 🌊🌿. Permethrin, another ingredient in many bug sprays, is an insecticide that not only repels bugs, but kills them too. This ingredient does NOT discriminate when it comes to killing mosquitos and tends to eradicate the good bugs too 🐝❌. Finding a good bug spray that doesn't have harmful chemicals and toxins AND works can be tough! 😬 But there are some brands that are working to provide safe and organic bug repellent. Some of these brands include: - Badger Anti-Bug Spray @badgerbalm - Kinfield Bug Spray @kinfield - Skeem Design Outdoor Body Spray @skeemdesign However, another easy and effective way of repelling bugs while keeping the planet in mind 🌎, is making your very own bug spray... and it only takes a few ingredients! 🌱✨ All you need is: - 1/4 cup Witch Hazel - 4 drops of Citronella Extract - 4 drops of an Organic Essential Oil of your choice Recommended : - Lavender Essential Oil 🪻 - Lemon Essential Oil 🍋 - Peppermint Essential Oil 🌲 - Eucalyptus Essential Oil 🌱 - Rosemary Essential Oil 🌿 Directions: 1. Add all ingredients to a small reusable spray bottle 🫙 2. Shake and spray! 💦 This bug spray is safe for kids 👶, bugs 🐞, and the planet 🌏! Say goodbye to those frisky and itchy bug bites 🦟 and enjoy spending more time outside with your community while staying safe and smelling good! 🏞️💚 #EcoFriendly #SustainableLiving #DIYBugSpray #SafeSummerFun

In a world where consumerism often overshadows connection, the "Buy Nothing Project" offers a refreshing alternative. It’s not just about decluttering or finding free items—it’s about strengthening the fabric of our communities through generosity and gratitude. What is the Buy Nothing Project? It’s a network of local groups where neighbors give and receive freely, share abundantly, and express gratitude. Join to: -Offer items you no longer need, from furniture to food, without any expectation of payment. -Ask for items you need, whether it’s a tool for a one-time project or a toy for your child. Why Join? -Reduce Waste: Rehome items within the community, reducing waste sent to landfills. -Save Resources: Sharing goods means fewer new items are produced, saving resources and energy. -Build Community: Encourages face-to-face interactions. 💚How to Get Involved: Visit the Buy Nothing Project website (https://lnkd.in/ggAwX8M) or download the App to find a group near you or learn how to start one. Participate in the gift economy by posting items you wish to give away or by expressing your needs. #BuyNothingProject #GreenCommunity #Sustainableliving #GiftEconomy
