Over half of therapists have experienced burnout in the past year, according to a SimplePractice survey. A leading cause of burnout for practitioners is administrative tasks (55%) and those who accepted insurance were two times as likely to report administrative tasks as a huge contributor to burnout. Therapists are needed now more than ever. As an industry, we need to find ways to not only reduce burnout but eliminate the longstanding roadblocks between practitioners and health plans. This panel will discuss the misconceptions providers have about payors and vice versa – examining the fraught relationship and creating an open dialogue on how to solve the challenges that exist. Teens and young adults — especially Black, Brown, and Queer young people — bring their own unique lived experiences to social media spaces and, as a result, have different experiences with the content and communities they find there. The new National Survey developed by Hopelab and Common Sense Media highlights that while social media continues to pose risks, it also plays a beneficial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of young people, especially those from marginalized communities. Hear from young people at #BHT2024 involved in the research and youth mental health advocates as they discuss the nuanced relationship young people have with social media, AI, and digital mental health tools. Learn about how Hopelab and Common Sense Media prioritized youth co-creation to develop the National Survey and the importance of creating policies at the federal and state levels that are developed together with young people using evidence that highlights their lived experience on these platforms. Can you believe how quickly #BHT2024 is coming up?! 🎉 We’re coming together to work towards expanding access to mental health and substance use care through #technology and #innovation. Telehealth has transformed the landscape of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, offering new pathways to care that meet individuals where they are—physically, emotionally, and mentally. This session will explore innovative telehealth approaches that expand access to evidence-based SUD treatment, particularly for populations who face barriers to traditional in-person care. Experts will discuss the benefits and challenges of virtual care models, including increased flexibility, privacy, and continuity of care. Real-world examples will highlight how providers are integrating telehealth with personalized support to improve recovery outcomes, and how policymakers and payers can further support the expansion of these services. Attendees will leave with practical insights on leveraging telehealth to provide accessible, high-quality SUD care. We look forward to seeing you there on November 5th at 1:15pm. It is an honor to champion so many important conversations at #BHT2024. 💙 Only 23% of people seek help for mental health issues, and even fewer receive effective care. Traditionally, parity has focused on providing equal access to treatment for mental health compared to other medical conditions, and that is its current trajectory. However, more access doesn’t always mean the treatment provided is up to par. For true parity, access to top-tier treatment that produces long-term positive outcomes must be accessible. This talk will dive into the history and expected trajectory of parity. It addresses how the healthcare industry can adapt to achieve a state of accessible, quality treatments ensuring sustained positive outcomes. We can’t wait to see you there on November 5th at 9:15am!
