With a long-standing commitment to our mission, Amanda has served as Pro Bono General Counsel for Good+ since 2015, advising on various matters including co-venture relationships and corporate sponsors for product and financial donations. Donations of essential baby items are crucial for families facing financial challenges. As 96% of our program families live at or below the poverty level, these contributions greatly alleviate the financial burden and stress related to having limited access to these resources. Thanks to UPPAbaby's generous contribution of 150 strollers, 100 playards, and 100 diaper backpacks, we can continue providing these items to under-resourced families across NYC and LA. Research highlighted in the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) sheds light on a pioneering approach to addressing health disparities through direct cash assistance. Launched in January 2024, Rx Kids provides families with $1,500 during pregnancy, and an additional $500 monthly for the first year of a child's life, unconditionally and without verification requirements. This initiative, led by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, aims to mitigate the adverse health effects of poverty, a concept gaining traction in the U.S. amid global success in low and middle-income countries. Good+Foundation pairs product donations and Family Cash Grants, alongside direct service support offered by our partners. In 2020, Good+ began offering Family Cash Grants to address the diverse and immediate needs of families in response to the pandemic. Over the past four years, we've expanded the initiative and distributed more than $1.1 million in grants, with $300,000+ given to 1,501 families in 2023 alone.
