Diapers are the top requested item at Good+, and for good reason—they’re crucial for families to meet their babies' basic needs and access essential services like daycare. As Diaper Need Awareness Week approaches (September 23-29), we’re proud to share that Good+Foundation has donated over 36.3M diapers since its inception, easing financial burdens for countless families. According to our partners at the National Diaper Bank Network, 47% of American families in 2023 reported diaper need, and 3 in 5 parents miss work or school because they cannot afford diapers to leave their baby in childcare. If a family is struggling to afford diapers each month, they are likely struggling to afford other basic needs including food, healthcare, and housing. At Good+, we address this critical issue by providing monthly diaper donations for our partner programs, and our targeted essential items, cash grants, and individualized services work holistically to remedy these challenges, providing comprehensive support to help families thrive. Last weekend, children and caregivers served by Good+ program partners enjoyed an unforgettable experience at a Major League Baseball (MLB) game, made possible by the New York Mets' generous support. For many of the kids, it was their first time at a game, and their excitement was palpable as they arrived at the stadium. For Good+ families, this outing was more than just a day of fun—it was a meaningful chance to step away from daily stressors, connect with their loved ones, and create cherished memories. Events like these allow families to bond in ways that are often challenging due to unaccommodating work schedules, custodial restraints, and financial limitations. We are deeply grateful to the New York Mets for making this special day possible and facilitating an enjoyable experience for Good+ families. #CommunityImpact

Last week, Good+ hosted staff watch parties to celebrate the heart-wrenching and inspiring story of "Daughters" documentary. Executive produced by Good+ Founder, Jessica Seinfeld, and co-directed by Angela Patton and Natalie Rae Robison, this poignant film follows four young girls as they prepare for a special Daddy Daughter Dance with their incarcerated fathers in a Washington, D.C. jail. "Daughters" reveals how the criminal legal system creates obstacles that strain family relationships, while highlighting the remarkable resilience of young Black girls and their families as they confront the mental, physical, and emotional challenges of parental incarceration. Last week, Dr. Alan-Michael Graves, our Senior Director of Learning and Capacity Building, shared valuable insights at the Fatherhood Conference entitled, “From the Streets to the Boardroom, Fathers Matter,” hosted by Assemblymember Mike Gipson, at California State University. Attendee dads reflected on their experiences, and encouraged each other to embrace both the challenges and rewards of fatherhood through various engaging activities. At Good+, we believe in the power of investing in fathers for the overall health of families.
