  • A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for an E-Cycling Event and WayForward Resources Food Drive in Middleton this past Tuesday! We deeply appreciate the support from our donors, volunteers, and partners at Sketchworks Architecture LLC, AssuredPartners, AVID Risk Solutions, Food Concepts, Inc., and First Choice Dental. Thanks to your generosity, we kept over 6,000 pounds of electronics, clothing, and household items out of local landfills and collected over 2,100 pounds of food along with $575 in cash donations! If you couldn’t make it to the event but still want to recycle, you can drop off electronics—working or non-working—year-round at any of our 14 locations across South Central Wisconsin. Through the Dell Reconnect Program, we accept electronics of all makes and conditions for responsible recycling, helping to reduce electronic waste. Your contributions not only benefit the environment but also support vital community programs, including stable housing and employment support for individuals facing disabilities and other barriers. It’s GOOD for the community and GOOD for the environment! #Ecycling #Goodwill #Sustainability

  • Today, two volunteers of Goodwill’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Dawn Wenzel and Gene Masters were recognized as 2024 Department of Revenue Outstanding Volunteers of the Year-VITA Program. The award is given in recognition of their years of service, dedication to Wisconsin taxpayers, and volunteerism to the VITA program. VITA volunteers help to provide FREE income tax preparation for community members with low to moderate income. Over $1 million in tax refunds are returned into our community every year through the VITA program – these refunds make a huge difference, allowing program participants to pay for rent, utilities, medication, and other essentials. The more volunteers we have, the more community members the VITA program can serve at Goodwill! Volunteers are needed! Click the link for more information: https://lnkd.in/gAzxJUVk

Excitement is in the air #2 This is literally 3 minutes after opening the doors at the new outlet store in Madison run by Michele Harris and her team at Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin. It’s a beautiful facility. These shoppers are getting ultra low cost goods. Many have resale businesses of their own; others are looking for gems for themselves and their families; all we’re excited to find treasures!

  • Our Goodwill team, proud members of the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce had an a-maize-ing time volunteering and serving sweet corn at the 71st Annual Sun Prairie Sweet Corn Festival last weekend. An impressive 80 tons of Wisconsin-grown sweet corn were served! This fun festival remains the largest fundraiser for the Sun Prairie Chamber’s partners, with proceeds reinvested into this wonderful community.

  • Thanks to Eric, Maxx and Sabre (the sweet Golden Retriever), it was a very GOOD summer at our Verona location. Eric and Maxx, local high school students, joined our Verona store team as part of the Summer Youth Work Experience Program in partnership with Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS). In addition to learning new skills for today and tomorrow, they made new friends and had plenty of GOOD times at their summer job.
