We celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring several of our Mission team. The 2024 theme is "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together." In their positions with Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, they are diligently working on making positive change in Southwest Florida.

Due to the anticipated weather the Dress for Success event has changed to Wednesday, October 2nd, at the Goodwill Opportunity Center, 5100 Tice St., Fort Myers from 3PM-7PM. The United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades is offering a Financial Education Workshop on Tuesday, October 15th from 6pm - 8pm at the LaBelle Goodwill Community Resource Center (91 S. Lee Street). They will be partnering with us (#GoodwillSWFL) and Fifth Third Bank to bring the community together to learn more about building your credit, and improving your credit score. Individuals thinking about starting their own business, but need some mentoring, are can apply to the Goodwill Southwest Florida MicroEnterprise Institute. The next class takes place from Oct. 7 through Nov. 14 in Port Charlotte. Class meets Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Charlotte County Goodwill Community Resource Center, located inside the Kings Highway Goodwill, 24123 Peachland Blvd. The MicroEnterprise Institute is a six-week training program to help emerging entrepreneurs start new ventures and grow small businesses. Graduates complete a comprehensive training course and prepare a plan to guide their start-up. They work with mentors and hear from subject matter experts in areas of accounting, legal, marketing, insurance and funding. We had a very successful Career, Trades, and Community Fair yesterday at SWFL Enterprise Center. It was a wonderful collaborative effort helping people find jobs, or a better opportunity. 18 Business Partners participated and 208 individuals attended. #GoodwillSWFL #swflenterprisecenter
