Head HR - Google, India, Partner to the business, promoter of talent and technology

Even the smallest victories can fuel big dreams ... Inclusion isn't a checkbox, it's a journey - with unexpected turns, and moments of pause for reflection. It's about growing, adapting, and learning together, because you recognize that the world doesn't always accommodate everyone, and you understand the importance of making progress towards inclusivity. Google India is committed to this progress - inclusion is a cornerstone of our culture, leadership and more. We're grateful to Disability:IN for recognizing these efforts in their 2024 rankings, but we know this just the start of a much longer journey We believe inclusion is about valuing the unique strengths everyone brings to the table. Access is essential, but true inclusion goes beyond that – it's about co-creating a space where everyone feels they belong and can thrive  And sometimes that means going the extra mile. From inclusive hiring (https://acesse.one/9N21n)  to empowering managers & fostering Employee Resource Groups like Disability Alliance, we're committed to building a Google for everyone. A beautiful reminder was our recent "Empower Hour" event - connecting with people with disabilities & allies, hearing their stories fueling our determination and passion to build a workplace that empowers everyone to reach their full potential. Find out more: https://goo.gle/3T4sji7 We'll keep learning, keep growing, keep championing inclusion. Together, let's build a future that's accessible to all. For as long as Joaquín can remember, he was always drawn to working at Google. “When I was a kid learning how to program, I remember using Google search and finding thousands of results in less than a second. When I started my career path as a software engineer, I wanted to have that kind of positive impact and help people access information and knowledge.” Today, Joaquín — a software engineering intern and current student at Tec de Monterrey — is helping make Google Cloud’s App Connector service more efficient and reliable. For students interested in doing similar work, Joaquín shared the following tips and reminders: “First: knowledge gets you far, but passion gets you anywhere you want. And second: working on personal projects and student groups that I’m passionate about has had in my opinion the biggest impact in my CS journey.” Explore our opportunities for students and early career candidates ➡️ https://goo.gle/4fLm38J

“Ever since I was a little kid, I've always wanted to work at Google. So when I saw that they had opportunities for internships, I jumped at the chance without hesitation.” Meet Lucía, a software engineering intern based in our Stockholm office. This summer, Lucía is interning on the Meet Web API team, helping to better integrate Google Meet and Google Chrome processes. Outside of her core work, Lucía’s favorite parts of her internship are the relationships she’s built. “The thing that I’ve been enjoying the most is probably just meeting new inspiring people. Spending time with Googlers and other interns is truly amazing. I also enjoy doing some peer programming with my host — I'm learning so much from him.” Her advice for students interested in applying for an internship at Google? Just do it! “Even though it looks hard the first time and it can even sound scary to get through the interviews, trust your skills — you got this!” Thank you for your contributions to #lifeatGoogle Lucía!
