We develop long-term relationships through team members committed to a culture of extraordinary service.

About us

The Gothic story begins in the humble setting of the Georgio Family garage located on “Gothic Avenue” in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Louis Georgio provided the inspiration by founding “Georgio & Sons Landscaping” in 1968 initiating the family passion for the landscape industry. Upon his passing, Judy Georgio founded Gothic in 1984. Her son Michael was instrumental in driving Gothic’s growth and unique culture. Gothic has remained family-owned and run by Jon and Ron Georgio alongside a highly talented leadership team. Our extended Gothic family continues to grow with over 1,800 dedicated landscape professionals servicing California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. We remain committed to our legacy values which include the success of our client-partners, our no excuses and no compromises approach, and our pledge to delivering extraordinary results.

Our approach towards native gardens has always been positive and affirming. It is a myth that drought-tolerant plants cannot look good and green. There is immense beauty, color, and vibrance in landscaping with materials and plants native to the West Coast. Such a garden not only enhances aesthetic appeal but also helps plants flourish in the ever-changing Southwest weather while keeping water usage to a minimum. Moreover, the benefits extend beyond water conservation. Native gardens increase biodiversity and support local wildlife, creating habitats for butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and other species to thrive. To learn more about how converting your turfs and lawns into native gardens can help save thousands on bills and resources and benefit from city and state rebates, contact us. We can help you navigate the process. https://lnkd.in/e3acQ43a

Did you know trees communicate with each other using chemical and electrical signals through a network of fungi? Scientist and Professor of Forest Ecology, Suzanne Simard, shared this observation with the New York Times. By analyzing DNA in root tips and tracing the movement of molecules through underground conduits, she found that fungal threads link nearly every tree in a forest—even trees of different species. Carbon, water, nutrients, alarm signals, and hormones can pass from tree to tree through these subterranean circuits. Resources tend to flow from the oldest and biggest trees to the youngest and smallest. Chemical alarm signals generated by one tree prepare nearby trees for danger. Seedlings severed from the forest’s underground lifelines are much more likely to die than their networked counterparts. This intricate system connects their roots and allows them to share information about threats, resources, and other crucial details for the forest's health. For example, when a tree is under attack by pests, it can send distress signals to nearby trees, prompting them to produce defensive chemicals. This fascinating communication system helps maintain the balance and resilience of forest ecosystems. https://lnkd.in/gmX2xF8
