🎉 It’s our anniversary weekend and we’re grateful to Mario Huapaya for his warm message to the Governance Action Hub team from Peru! 🎊 In #Peru, we are exploring collaborative models that involve stakeholders in the implementation of territorial development processes. We are currently coordinating a baseline analysis with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) in three regions of Peru: #Cajamarca, #Cusco, and #Pasco. ✨Yesterday, we virtually convened more than 100 researchers from multiple universities, think tanks, centres of study in #Colombia alongside the Ministry of Mines and Energy Colombia, IPSE -Instituto de Planificación y Promoción de Soluciones Energéticas para Zonas No Interconectadas, UPME Oficial, FENOGE, Universidad del Magdalena, Universidad de La Guajira and the World Resources Institute. 🤝🏼Together, we mapped research related to #energycommunities, outlined their objectives and expected results, and considered the inclusive perspectives of different stakeholders. 🔎The insights gathered during the workshop will be used to inform government decision-making, helping to identify trends and support further investigation into specific areas of the just #energytransition.🧠⚡️ #Colombia #Researchers #Inclusivedevelopment #energycommunities #climateaction Carlos Diaz Katherine Bain Jorge Florez Herrera Mario G Picón, PhD. 🌍💡At our recent narrative workshop in Paipa, #Colombia, with the Natural Resource Governance Institute, we worked closely with local actors and NGOs to advocate for a sustainable #energytransition with a focus on the social and economic impact for #energycommunities (Comunidades Energéticas). 📌 Our efforts aim to bridge the gap between local and national perspectives, ensuring that voices from civil society, indigenous and afro-descendant communities are heard in the #JustEnergyTransition (JET). 💪What we did ⬇ 🗣🏘️ Governance Action Hub's Carlos Diaz facilitated discussions on the governance and sustainability of energy communities. 👥💬We engaged with leaders from Cesar, Putumayo, and Meta. 👀⚡We promoted local visions for energy tailored to specific communities. 🔑Key learnings from the workshop⬇ ⚡Stronger engagement and strategic communication is needed for a successful implementation of the Energy Communities Policy. 🫱🏽🫲🏿 Territorial and national efforts must be aligned for a just energy transition. 🗣 Understanding overarching different stories and narratives in Colombia's JET is important to bridge the existing gap in the energy sector. #ComunidadesEnergéticas #EnergyCommunities #Sustainability #JustEnergyTransition
