The story of how I turned my 50+ website visitors into paying customers ($800+) with high-insight data Despite supporting my brother’s wholesale business, I’ve been working in a small agency since 2021. Within 2 years of writing organic content, we grew our website’s traffic to more than one million visitors. We wanted to take it to the next level and monetize beyond the services we provide, so we decided to create a digital product and sell it in our accounting niche. After creating an ebook full of value, we placed an eye-catching banner on our website that directed visitors to a Gumroad landing page where they could purchase the ebook. Things got shot up as we expected. While we were happy with the click-through rate (CTR) on the banner, the conversion rate was very low. People were clicking, but few were purchasing. At that point, we weren’t sure if the issue was with the Gumroad landing page, the banner, or the quality of the ebook created. This is where I sought help from my friend Gowtham Raj. After careful exploration of my website, Gumroad landing page, and ebook, he couldn’t find any mistakes in those except minor copywriting issues. He wasn’t sure what to suggest and went away that day. After a few days of the same month, he called me and asked me to try their website visitor identification software to find more insights into my website visitors. He further added that it was free to use as of that time. I was like why not (without knowing what it is). I didn’t even ask my other friend who is the proprietor of the agency. That weekend, we implemented their software HyperReach on our website. After 2 weeks of implementation, I sat with my friend Gowtham and decoded the insights we’ve got. The HyperReach revealed crucial insights into our audience, such as company data and the hierarchy of those companies. It also revealed that some of the companies that visited my website are from the least developed countries. It quickly became clear that while my ebook was valuable, my pricing may not have aligned with my audience’s expectations. People from the least developed countries likely needed a more accessible price point. Based on this new data, Gowtham asked us to change two things: Parity pricing: to better match my audience’s willingness to pay Personalized Outreach: to send tailored messages to visitors based on what page a visitor landed on before clicking the banner. While Gumroad took care of parity pricing, HyperReach took care of automated personalized messages. The combination of audience data, adjusted pricing, and personalized outreach led to a significant boost in conversions. As a result, our ebook started selling at a much higher rate, and we were finally able to turn our traffic into paying customers. Thanks, Team GoZen and Gowtham for letting us try HyperReach even before its official launch. I’ve attached the Gumroad screenshots for your reference.
