Pursuing peace through nature, arts, justice, community, faith, and Design for Freedom.

About us

Grace Farms Foundation’s interdisciplinary humanitarian mission is to pursue peace through nature, arts, justice, community, faith, and Design for Freedom, a new movement to eliminate forced labor from the building materials supply chain. The Foundation’s work is carried out at Grace Farms. The open, porous architecture of the internationally acclaimed River building at Grace Farms, designed by SANAA, is embedded into 80 acres of natural landscape. The building, designed to break down barriers between people and sectors, invites all to pause and reflect, while also encouraging engagement with our initiatives, creating new outcomes. The result is a hopeful, yet active, environment where peace take shape. Grace Farms is accessible and free to the public six days a week. Through on-site programming, daily experiences, and exhibits, all are invited to observe, experience and support the work of Grace Farms Foundation.

A spectacular musical performance by powerhouse vocalist, pianist, and songwriter, Sheléa, on Saturday, September 28th at Grace Farms! Following a thoughtful introduction by Grace Farms' Music Director, Marcus G. Miller, Sheléa took to the Sanctuary stage, showcasing her incredible vocal versatility and musicianship! A critically-acclaimed artist who counts industry legends Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder as mentors, Sheléa performed an out-of-this world set that wowed all those present, receiving several standing ovations throughout the night. Taking to the piano early in the evening, she excitingly even took a few requests from the audience, leading to a fun and impressive off the cuff sing-a-long moment that set the tone for a special night. Throughout the concert, Miller joined Sheléa onstage to duet, with her voice and Miller's sax melding beautifully. In addition to the music, Miller and Sheléa sat down for a fun and inspiring conversation with Sheléa sharing about her musical journey, inspiration and influences, and musicianship, where she spoke to the profound way that "music found me." Thank you for all who attended and to Sheléa for an unforgettable performance, part of our ongoing Voices of Culture series! Photos by Melani Lust.

Thank you to Suzie Collier for making it such an inspirational and memorable evening on Thursday, September 26th! A renowned conductor, violinist, and educator, Suzie Collier took to the Sanctuary stage alongside Grace Farms' Music Director, Marcus G. Miller, to lead a highly interactive conversation focused on how reignite a passion for music. The central theme? Intention. Importantly, they discussed how rigor can constrain us, but when self-imposed, it can actually be liberating, with Suzie going on to note, "if you're free enough to want it for yourself, I don't see any reason why you can't attain it." As Collier asked the audience to share about their own musical journeys, the themes of judgement and curiosity came up, and the difficulties that arise when the two coincide. But Collier encouraged audiences to stay open-minded and "keep your musical mind curious." Bringing the conversation to life was a series of vibrant musical duets with Miller on the sax and Collier on violin. Thank you Suzie Collier for such an incredible night, one that serves as a powerful reminder for people to embrace intention, keep their curiosity and sense of wonder, and most of all, be patient and gentle with our growth, both in music and in life.
