Last night, we brought together early-stage founders, investors, and industry experts to unpack what it takes to build an AI startup in today's landscape. Some of the topics we covered: - Strategies for startups to build competitive advantages - Smaller vs. larger models - Vertical-specific AI applications A big thanks to our speakers Paige Bailey, Logan Kilpatrick, Jason Gelman, Zachary Bratun-Glennon, and attendees for making this a great night!

We’ve been working up to this announcement for some time, and I am so happy and humbled to share that Tildei raised $6M in seed and we are officially coming out of stealth! Having spent my entire career in marketing technology, I’m all in our mission to change how brands can talk to their customers, to elevate the marketer, and to empower customers. Today we are doing this in Instagram and WhatsApp. Tomorrow we will be in even more channels and executing on this vision more fully. Every day I feel enormously lucky to be surrounded with such phenomenal people. My gratitude to my fellow co-founders Mark Ghermezian and Kevin Dutra. We are joined by the best founding team I could imagine Selby Kendrick, Jacob Roschen, Matt Schmitter, Samuel Varga, Austin Bruch, Adrienne Detrick, Alexa Brodsky, and Shana Chriki THANK YOU to our investors and early customers who have believed in our vision and supported us each step of the way. Thank you for being part of the Tildei story! Check out our blog to read more: https://lnkd.in/eea9RN5M And of course - if you want to learn how AI-powered marketing conversations can drive revenue, I’d love to chat!

CEO and Co-Founder at CentML; Associate Professor at the University of Toronto; Faculty Member at Vector Institute
Anytime your company is associated with a list that has seen the likes of OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks, and a flurry of other household AI powerhouses, you don’t take that honour lightly. I couldn’t be more proud to announce CentML has been recognized as a Rising Star enabler and top runner up to the 2024 Intelligent Applications 40 list. The #IA40 is a decorated list of top private companies building with AI and GenAI, essentially shaping our future for the better. Voted on by a group of renowned judges across the most influential tech and private equity firms in the world, the list is heavily curated by deep industry research and investors who have put several billion into the sector. To top it off, we’re the first (and definitely not the last) Canadian company to be associated with this list. I firmly believe Canada has the brightest and strongest AI talent in the world - this recognition is a further testament to that. https://lnkd.in/gkjeqAJg #centml #ai #optimization #enablers #genai #machinelearning

Great to see Gradient Ventures portfolio companies Gynger, CentML, and LangDB on this list!
Fresh out of the CB Insights oven: our report on "Future Tech Hotshots" 🔥 We identified 52 emerging startups (all < 100 employees) that are on track for major exits in the next 5-10 years. Here's how we did it: 1. Used the CBI platform to narrow thousands of startups down to ~400 based on commercial maturity, business health, and management strength 2. Analyzed these companies' investors, teams, markets, products, and business relationships 3. Read in-depth Analyst Briefings (submitted by startups) and buyer interviews (with their customers) to reach the final 52 Breaking down the list: - The 52 startups cover a wide range of industries and horizontal functions, from AirMDR, Inc. in cybersecurity to Gynger in B2B financial services to FarmWise in agtech - Nearly half of these companies offer AI as a core product - 3 startups (Aliro, Laudio, and Mavenoid) score especially high on M&A probability Get the full list and analysis for free via the link in comments

Great interview with our GP Darian Shirazi 🎧
What was Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg like in 2005? What are the three main categories to invest in AI today? Will the future growth of A.I. be linear or exponential? In this Fintech Leaders episode, we talk about this and much more. I sat down with Darian Shirazi, General Partner at Gradient Ventures, an early-stage venture fund focused on AI and data-rich companies, with Google as its major LP. Prior to Gradient, Darian founded and sold Radius, a B2B Customer Data Platform. He is also an early investor in companies including Lyft, Udemy, Carbon Health, Palantir Technologies, and Niva. Fun fact, he was Facebook’s first intern back when the company had only 10 people. We discuss: - Joining Facebook as its first intern and working directly for Mark Zuckerberg. Why is Mark such a special tech leader? - Gradient’s three different strategies to invest in AI - The future of AI - The incredible story of how Darian’s family had to escape Iran and rebuilt itself into one of the strongest tech families in the US… lots more! https://bit.ly/3Xlyzoc

When it comes to AI, nothing piques my interest more than neural networks (NNs). They are the foundation for large language models (LLMs), which have made headlines for their applications in generative AI. Today we are announcing the release of our Large Demand Sensing Model, or LDSM for short: our proprietary, neural network-powered models for inventory.
