  • We are pleased to announce that GrafTech Mexico, our graphite electrode manufacturing facility in Nuevo León, Mexico, recently received the Safe and Healthy Workplace Environments (Entornos Laborales Seguros y Saludables – “ELSSA”) distinction, awarded by the Mexican Social Security Institute (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social – “IMSS”). Started in 2022, ELSSA is a voluntary program that aims to foster three-way coordination and participation between companies, workers, and the IMSS. It looks to implement strategies and actions to improve the health, safety, and well-being of workers, while simultaneously promoting productivity and quality.   This achievement was made possible by a core working group of GrafTech Mexico team members, including a recognized ELSSA monitor and an implementation committee, tasked with identifying opportunities and taking actions to build a safer and healthier work environment. Some of these actions included ergonomics analyses and improvements, identification and prevention of psychosocial risk factors, and advancements with the site’s SafeStart and wellness programs. “I am very proud to be part of a team that is so deeply invested in the well-being of its employees. There is still work to do, and we will continue our efforts in this critical area,” commented Nancy Saucedo, Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection Manager. We sincerely appreciate receiving this distinction, as it reflects GrafTech’s shared commitment to health and safety excellence. #GrafTechMexico #EAF #SafeWorkplace #ELSSA
