    "Navigating the Future of Timeshare: Trends, Opportunities, and Insights for the Vacation Ownership Industry," shines a light on the unique opportunities and challenges for independent resorts, which make up about two-thirds of U.S. timeshares. What makes independent resorts special is their sense of community and long-standing traditions, as noted by David Brown, co-president of Grand Pacific Resorts, and Caroline Shin, CEO and co-founder of Vacatia. However, modernizing these resorts without losing their intrinsic spirit is a pressing challenge. Independent resorts face hurdles in marketing, financial sustainability, and service quality. David and Caroline propose finding new ways to engage with owners and updating amenities as a solution. Additionally, consolidation opportunities for smaller resorts to merge with larger networks, supported by management companies that provide essential modernization and long-term vision, are another way to mitigate the challenges. Positive market factors such as strategic locations, lower interest rates, and technological advancements are set to support the growth of independent resorts, ensuring their continued success!     In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month every October, we partner with SEND ME ON VACATION INC, a non-profit organization dedicated to gifting vacations to cancer survivors. Last week, we were honored to host seven breast cancer survivors at Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort. The ladies enjoyed delicious chef-prepared meals, self-care workshops, and crafting memorable keepsakes. The week culminated in a fundraiser event that was open to all resort associates, guests, and owners and was filled with pink-themed food and drinks, live music, a wishing wall—and above all, an outpouring of love and support for these brave women. We look forward to gifting many more vacations to survivors for an opportunity to reflect and connect with one another in a beautiful and restorative setting. #breastcancerawareness #pinkoctober

    We recently partnered with The League To Save Lake Tahoe—also known as Keep Tahoe Blue—to clean the beaches and surrounding areas of Tahoe City. This effort kicked off our Fall 2024 Leadership Meeting, highlighting our ongoing commitment to preserving the pristine locations where we operate. Dozens of Grand Pacific Resorts leaders, general managers, and executives joined forces with Keep Tahoe Blue’s Community Outreach Team, rolling up their sleeves to clean the beaches, sidewalks, bushes, and trails around Tahoe City. In just 45 minutes, they had collected an incredible 146 pounds of trash! “It was so inspiring to see leaders from across our resorts give of their time and effort as they united to help protect the beautiful vacation destinations in which we operate, and that our owners call their homes away from home,” said Renee Wagner, RRP, Senior Director of Creative Services and Brand Management. “Our goal is to preserve these pristine locations so that visitors can continue to enjoy them for many years to come.” #TeamBuilding #CorporateCulture #GrandPacificResorts #CommunityEngagement #Teamwork #CorporateSocialResponsibility

    At Grand Pacific Resorts, we’re committed to leadership development and team-building at every level. Last week, we reinforced this commitment by hosting our fall Leadership Meeting in beautiful Lake Tahoe. The week kicked off with a beach clean-up in partnership with The League To Save Lake Tahoe. Our leaders came together to collect an impressive 146 pounds of trash in our ongoing dedication to preserving our beautiful vacation destinations. We heard motivating keynotes from Mark Panciera of the Pacific Institute, who encouraged leaders to break through self-limiting beliefs, and from Co-President David Brown, who shared his exciting vision for the future of our company. Our Grand BET Program participants took the stage to reflect on their transformational journeys and leadership growth within the Grand Pacific Resorts development program, culminating in a graduation ceremony celebrating their achievements. We also enjoyed meaningful moments of camaraderie with our fellow leaders while surrounded by stunning mountain views in a truly inspiring setting.     From ensuring every last detail of a unit is perfect prior to each arrival, to always having clean linens on hand, our Housekeeping Teams are truly the heart of the house! Even while working with reduced staff at times, our Housekeeping Associates work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide our Owners and Guests with the best vacation experiences. Every year in September, each of our resorts dedicates an entire week, known as Housekeeping Appreciation Week, to express our immense gratitude for our Housekeeping Associates. All week, we treated them to surprises like sweet treats, catered meals, and gift baskets. As Assistant General Manager at Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort, Angela has made a profound impact on our resort operations, focusing on enhancing room revenue, reducing Housekeeping expenses, and elevating Guest satisfaction. She has optimized rates and occupancy, driving revenue growth in group and corporate sales. Angela actively engages with Guests to promptly address their concerns, leading to increased satisfaction scores. During extensive restoration projects, Angela ensured transparent communication with Owners, offering upgrades and personalized accommodations to mitigate any disruptions. Her multifaceted approach, encompassing Guest engagement, and construction management have driven measurable improvements in both Guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.     Congratulations to Hayley Suel on her ARDA finalist position! Hayley has been a driving force behind the transformative changes within our financial reporting system, spearheading a comprehensive overhaul that reshaped our monthly distribution process. Her meticulous attention to detail led to the implementation of templates, reinforcing security measures and reducing labor efforts, resulting in improved efficiency despite operating with a smaller Team. She also initiated quarterly debrief sessions along with daily accountability practices, including morning progress reports, which greatly improved department accountability and timely task completion. Hayley created a virtual 'Help Wanted' board, enhancing Team communication and expediting assistance, leading to streamlined project completion and workload balance. Additionally, she played a key role in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, fortifying operational compliance and efficiency. Hayley utilized her strategic foresight to implement a master calendar system across our resorts, eliminating scheduling conflicts and optimizing resources. These initiatives reflect Hayley's commitment, innovation, and proactive approach, earning her positive feedback from management and board members alike.
