Kaniesha Jackson, Counselor at Reagan Middle School is recognizing her Aunt, Deloris Huling who is a survivor of breast cancer. She was diagnosed by one doctor and decided to get a second, and third opinion. Deloris says, "I want others to know that after I was told I had breast cancer I took a walk with GOD. As we walked I confessed that I didn't want to go on his journey but knew I would be okay if he went with me. GOD asked me, 'What would you have me to do for you?' I said, 'I don't want chemo or radiation.' After my surgery (double mastectomy), I went to see my Oncologist and he said, you don't need chemo or radiation, you can go home.' So I would say, TALK TO and TRUST GOD." My Aunt Deloris has always lived life to its fullest and lived to serve others. Now, her life's missions take on a new level of servitude. Deloris has been cancer-free for EIGHT years👏🩷! #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #PinkOutGPISD #Hope #Strength #Support #WeAreGPISD

As we wrap up our campus Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, Grand Prairie ISD’s last stop is Travis World Language Academy. The Spanish 1 and 2 students at Travis have been working on a project where they created floats. They then held a parade in the hallway to honor Hispanic Heritage and show off their creations. Don’t their floats look incredible? Well done, everyone, it was another great campus celebration to finish a great month. #HispanicHeritageMonth #WeAreGPISD
