#TuesdayTip📌 No matter an organization’s mission or purpose, we all have an opportunity and responsibility to be on the side of striving for justice and dismantling racism. This work can start with challenging ourselves, our colleagues, and even our funders to use language that empowers, rather than disempowers, the people and groups that our organizations engage and serve. With this in mind, we’ve outlined five tips to help you effectively incorporate equitable language in your grant writing. Learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gCktwybv

Are you, or is someone important to you, a Grant Professional? Don't miss the opportunity to advocate for the inclusion of the occupation "Grant Professional" in the 2028 Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system. Since our founding in 2007, Grants Plus has grown to be a leading consultancy of dozens of experienced and talented Grant Professionals. We are proud to have helped secure hundreds of millions of dollars in public and private grants for our nonprofit clients, and we enthusiastically support the efforts to include the "Grant Professional" occupation in the SOC. If you are in support, kindly consider taking action via the link in the post below 👇

GPA is strongly advocating for the inclusion of the occupation "Grant Professional" within the 2028 Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system and its supporting documentation. Extensive research conducted by the GPA revealed a critical gap in the current 2018 SOC system. Titles commonly associated with grant professionals, such as Grant Writer, Grant Proposal Developer, Grant Coordinator, Grant Manager, and Grants Program Manager, are conspicuously absent. This lack of recognition fails to acknowledge the distinct skillset, education, training, and qualifications required for success in this field and hampers accurate data collection and analysis of the grant professional workforce. Furthermore, existing generic codes like the SOC code 13-1000 for Business and Financial Operations inadequately represent the specialized nature of grant professionals. These broad classifications fail to capture the unique knowledge base encompassing strategic planning, proposal development, compliance regulations, program evaluation, and relationship building that grant professionals possess. Therefore GPA has proposed adding Grant Professional as an occupation for the 2028 SOC. To view a full list of our proposed changes, click here. https://lnkd.in/e5G3-HUu Your Proposed Action: If you are in support of this effort, GPA encourages all Grant Professionals (anyone employed within the grant industry) to comment. Comments should be submitted by August 11, 2024 through Regulations.gov. Click here https://lnkd.in/efK2isKi to review the instructions and a view a template to comment.

CEO of Grants Plus —> Inspiring vision, challenging complacency, and leading the way to the greater good

Let generosity ring! My Grants Plus colleagues Sarah Dave, Gail Dancy Heim, and Kari Elsila and I enjoyed seeing the historic sites of Philadelphia and spending time with our partners in the #givinginstitute and Giving USA Foundation. Our annual summer tradition of convening about trends in philanthropy and best practices for serving nonprofits is always invigorating. We have returned even more inspired to help our nonprofit clients finish 2024 strong! #letgenerosityring #summersymposium #givingUSA
