Graystone Eye was founded in 1969 and now proudly serves patients from four office locations: Hickory, Lenoir, Lincolnton, and Boone. Our Hickory location serves as our main office and houses a fully accredited surgery center with two operating rooms for the convenience of our patients. Annual/routine eye examinations remain the best defense in the early detection of underlying health problems. Our 14 board-certified ophthalmologists and 1 optometrist provide comprehensive services, focusing on Cataracts, Glaucoma, Refractive Procedures (iLASIK), Corneal Disorders, Retina Disorders, Pediatric Vision Disorders, Oculoplastics, Cosmetic Procedures with Skin Care Services, and a full-service Optical Center. 🎉🎊 Celebrating David's 50th Anniversary at Graystone! 🎊🎉 Join us in congratulating David on an incredible milestone – 50 years of dedicated service at Graystone! 👓✨ David's journey began in 1974 when, at just 19 years old, he joined us as a licensed optician after graduating from Durham Technical Community College. 🏫🎓 At the time, Durham Tech was one of only four schools in the nation offering the optician program! 🌟 David originally planned to study agriculture at NC State, but destiny had other plans. Being a lifelong glasses wearer and with a promising career ahead, he chose the path of an optician – and we are so grateful he did! 🌾➡️👓 Over the years, David has become a beloved figure in the Graystone community, serving families for up to four generations! 👨👩👧👦 His memories of our first office, complete with water fountains in the lobby, remind us how far we've come. 🚰🏢 David's incredible journey is a testament to his work ethic, instilled in him from a young age growing up on a farm in Hickory. 🚜💪 He credits the supportive doctors at Graystone for allowing him to grow and expand his skills, maintaining a family-like atmosphere for both patients and staff. 🏥❤️ With the national average tenure being just over four years, David's 50 years at Graystone is truly extraordinary. 🌟 His dedication has profoundly impacted countless lives, preserving the gift of sight and improving patient care every day. 👀💖 David's passion for his work remains unwavering.
