Updates

  • The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen, Dakotans for Health, and a lot of people like YOU have taken on the fight to bring #MedicaidExpansion to Indian Country. Our grassroots organizers have been collecting signatures since last November to place this long overdue citizen-initiated amendment on the general election ballot next year. When we win thousands of people who have been left behind ,including many of our relatives, will finally get the healthcare coverage they need but couldn’t afford, including prescription drugs like insulin and being able to access preventative services like colonoscopies and mammograms.   These folks are the working poor that make barely enough to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. So even though healthcare is a basic need no one can afford to go without, too many people do because it has to come after food and rent. We’re on the cusp of collecting enough signatures to place our constitutional amendment on next year’s ballot and take Medicaid expansion straight to the voters -- where polling shows it will win with overwhelming bipartisan support despite being a red state that voted for Donald Trump. The problem is we won’t be able to finish the job if we don’t get enough valid voter signatures to qualify for the ballot -- and the deadline to do it is coming up fast. Please donate $5, $9, $25, $50, $100 or more immediately and fund the campaign to win.
