We’re excited to share the time-lapse footage from the Granite Creek Bridge project! The project was a unique partnership between the Ruby Valley Conservation District, the Montana Department of Transportation, and the Montana Department of Resources and Conservation. The project included realigning 1,100 feet of the Granite Creek channel, modifying the confluence location of Granite Creek and Alder Gulch, and realigning 2,500 feet of Highway 287. The completed project offers multiple benefits including a safer roadway, a wider and taller bridge that safely accommodates motorists and cyclists while maintaining sediment transport, and restoration of the Granite Creek stream channel and riparian area with a positive connection to Alder Gulch. Enjoy!

After many weeks of concrete demolition and removal, the Basin Creek Dam is seeing new concrete for the first time in almost a century! The concrete is being pumped over 80 ft, up and over the dam to pour a new dam face. The new dam face will replace an old deteriorated concrete face that was failing and threatened the long-term stability of the structure. Stay tuned for continued updates as we finish installing the concrete dam face and start drilling to install stability anchors!
