Greater Hutch, the economic development division for the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, is a public-private partnership dedicated to existing business growth, new business recruitment, and workforce development for Reno County. Hutchinson, the county seat of Reno County, is conveniently located in the South Central Kansas region, 39 miles northwest of Wichita, and at the intersection of US Route 50, Hwy K-61, and Hwy K-96. Connected to I-135 via four-lane built to interstate standards highway and with two class one railroads, Reno County is strategically located for companies needing to move product coast to coast. One hundred contiguous acres are available in the Kansas Enterprise Industrial Park, a city-owned property located on the southeast side of Hutchinson and is home to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy nacelle assembly facility. KEIP fulfilled the “Shovel-Ready” Site Designation Program for the General Manufacturing Industry through the Austin Consulting Group from Cleveland, Ohio. The certification is performed through a comprehensive review of items including ownership, property, transportation, utility, community, and environment.
