“Success in a diversified portfolio is far more likely when combining talented people with different life experiences – gender and ethnicity are particularly powerful. We need people who look at the world very differently from one another. Diversity is one of the key factors that drives higher returns in a portfolio, and that is what drives the Investment Committee and Crewcial Partners to go out and find really talented people to bring variant perception to the table.” Mike Miller Chief investment officer, Crewcial Partners LLC ® Greater Milwaukee Foundation's investment adviser

Congratulations to our Board member Gail Yabuki and her husband, Jeff, who will be honored tonight as Humanitarians of the Year at Project Healthy Minds Gala. The award acknowledges the couple’s commitment to philanthropy, mental health advocacy and efforts to support those affected by mental health challenges. Through their Yabuki Family Foundation, the couple supports innovative initiatives that tackle some of the world’s toughest problems with a particular focus on mental and emotional health, education, arts and social justice. In 2021, they donated $20 million to Children's Wisconsin - the largest single donation the hospital has ever received - to expand mental health offerings into every Children’s Wisconsin primary care office and urgent care location. https://lnkd.in/ejxdxjyb

“As a community bank, we have resources we can bring to the market and into the community, into neighborhoods, but we don’t always have the deep connections and partnerships to identify the opportunities. Through organizations like the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, we can support economic development, access to quality education, housing and homeownership — all those aspects that make a community stronger and improve quality of life, which helps our customers and ultimately helps our bank, but it’s also the right thing to do.” -Jay Mack, Town Bank, a Wintrust Community Bank corporate donor

Community foundations, by nature, are designed to meet present needs and prepare for future issues, thanks to the generosity of our donors. When natural disasters strike, like Hurricane Helene, community foundations can often be found playing a role, in raising money for immediate relief, short-term recovery and long-term rebuilding efforts.
