SCAN's CASA program needs your help to advocate for children in Petersburg! You can help ensure all children involved in a case at the Juvenile and Domestic Courts has an advocate because all children deserve a safe, permanent home and the opportunity to thrive. SCAN's CASA program recently expanded to serve Petersburg and is in need of volunteers to serve children in both Petersburg and Richmond. Introducing SCAN's new E-Learning Modules. These e-learning modules highlight the healing-centered and resilience-building work of Virginia's Trauma-Informed Community Networks and are available to anyone for free. They can be found on our website at https://lnkd.in/eNuyQv7Z All modules are 10-20 minutes long and have closed captioning in English and Spanish.

SCAN's Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program has a critical need for volunteers to serve children in Richmond and Petersburg. There are currently 65 children on our waitlist in need of an advocate. Children who have experienced abuse or neglect may face a lot of change and uncertainty. Courtrooms. Foster care. New schools. All while dealing with the trauma of abuse or neglect, and potentially the trauma of being removed from home. At CASA, we make sure children don’t face this alone. Congratulations to SCAN's newest CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers! Six new Richmond advocates and 1 new Petersburg advocate were sworn in this week.
