The Council is excited to officially enter a three-year partnership with the University of Missouri-Saint Louis to broaden higher education access for Scouts starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Research shows that 75 percent of Scouting members go on to earn a bachelor's degree, which is twice the national average. The partnership illustrates the Council's commitment to support educational journeys for young adults in greater St. Louis and eastern Illinois. Included in the agreement are: 💲 Gold Scholarships of $5,250 to Scouting members enrolling at UMSL full-time as first-time freshman 🔻 15% tuition reduction to Scouting staff members enrolling in part-time undergraduate or graduate programs 🤲 support service access as Scouts make progress toward their degrees Thanks to Vice Chancellor Reggie Hill, Chancellor Dr. Kristin Sobolik, and our own CEO Joe Sadewasser, Ronda Smith and the entire Council team for broadening higher education access for Scouts! #Scouting #UMSL #HigherEd #ICanDoThat

Scouting is proud to help our local communities, especially during the holiday season. Last year's Scouting For Food drive brought in more than 1.7 MILLION food items from throughout the St. Louis and eastern Illinois communities for families in need. We are thrilled to be heading into our 40th year of Scouting For Food and being the catalyst for a national effort to help those in need. #ScoutingForFood #ICanDoThat #FoodDrive #giving #StLouis #Illinois

This Eagle Scout project had more significance than just helping the community 🥹 After Lauren T. – Boone Trails, Troop 975 – and her father (right) received oakwood from a tree taken down in their front years, she learned her high school library needed two tables. She led her troop in giving the downed tree new life by building two oak tables for the library. With her achievement, she earned the rank of Eagle Scout exactly 39 years after her father – David T., Pony Express Council, 1984. She also became a third generation Eagle Scout while being the first Bosnian descendent on her mother's side to earn the rank. Congrats to Lauren T. on the incredible achievement! 🦅 #EagleScout #community #ICanDoThat #ScoutsBSA

As busy as summer camps are, fall may be our busiest time of year. Everyone in the Scouting community is active to kick off our yearly calendar, from Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA to our volunteers and leadership team. What fall Scouting activity is your most fun as a leader...or was when you were in Scouting? #ICanDoThat #Scouting #Fall #Outdoors

Scouts can make the biggest differences for smaller communities, and that's what Jack P. – Soaring Eagle, Troop 8034 – did for New Baden, IL 🏀 The Village of New Baden serves under 3,500 local residents and has one park for the community. One of its recreational features, its basketball court, was in need of updating to create a more inviting space. Jack P. led his group over nearly 200 hours to: 🚧 remove the basketball hoops from the ground 🗑️ pour new concrete and insert new, industrial-quality built-in hoops 🚿 power wash the original paint off the court 🎨 paint new lines on the court and caulk the expansion joints Congrats Jack on earning the rank of Eagle Scout! 🦅 #EagleScout #Scouting #ICanDoThat #Sanctuary
