This year, we’ve been holding ENERGY STAR Treasure Hunts across all facilities to identify energy-saving opportunities, reduce operational costs, and optimize sustainability initiatives.   Here is a photo of our treasure hunt in Meadville, Pennsylvania. This week, we'll complete our final treasure hunt for the year at our facility in Biscoe, North Carolina.   Employees from various departments—operations, maintenance, and engineering—walk through the plant and identify potential energy waste.   We look for quick fixes and larger opportunities, ranging from adjusting lighting schedules, identifying air leaks in compressed air systems, upgrading to more energy-efficient equipment, or optimizing energy-intensive processes.   The power of the treasure hunt lies in its teamwork, fostering a culture where everyone feels involved in our sustainability goals.   #EnergyAwarenessMonth #TreasureHunts #Sustainability #Teamwork #CastingABrighterFuture

Our foundry in Iron Mountain, Michigan, also has three 3D sand printers. It's exciting to see us expand this technology to more plants in our network. Grede had the pleasure of hosting the foundry tour and attending the Ductile Iron Society's Annual Fall Conference over the past three days in St. Cloud, Minnesota. During the conference, 100 DIS members attended various committee meetings, panels, and technical sessions about thermal analysis, clay activation, ductile iron treatment, and more. The meeting ended with a tour of Grede St. Cloud. Our very own Robb Schmidt, Metallurgical Engineer from St. Cloud, spoke on a panel about ductile iron treatment methods. Robb did a fantastic job discussing the Fischer Converter case study. Did you know that Grede is the biggest ductile iron casting provider in the U.S.? We're proud to be part of the Ductile Iron Society and were happy to host this year's foundry tour. Thank you, DIS, for organizing another excellent conference. We recently celebrated our incredible team members at Grede St. Cloud in Minnesota and Grede Reedsburg in Wisconsin with employee appreciation picnics. Reedsburg hosted an onsite cookout filled with food and fun activities. It was a great time for everyone to relax and enjoy each other's company.🍔 St. Cloud took the festivities offsite for a family company picnic that featured horses and buggies, mini golf, yard games, and plenty of food and fun for all ages. 🏇 A huge thank you to everyone who made these events possible and to all our incredible employees for their hard work and dedication. Grede Reedsburg in Wisconsin hosted the American Foundry Society Cupola Chapter's annual in-person meeting last month. 🏭  Our Operations Manager, Dale Donovan, led the AFS members on an exclusive tour of our largest plant. With over 500 employees, Grede Reedsburg is a testament to our scale and commitment to excellence in the foundry industry. The AFS Cupola Chapter members had the unique opportunity to explore our flagship plant, which is at the heart of our operations.
