Even if a team or market of advisors is loaded with top talent, without clear alignment among the team members around some of the key practices, processes, and skills they employ with clients and prospective clients, the team’s productivity potential is rarely achieved. In our frequent discussions with wealth management leaders, we continue to see Organic Growth on the list of their top priorities. It’s a priority that has been challenging to solve for so many wealth management firms … which is why it remains on the list year after year. Back in February, we posted a blog with some perspectives on the importance of changing the approach to advisor training that we’ve seen most organizations deploy. Based on comments and questions we received on that, we’re following up with Part II – this one focused on the critical importance of coaching. As we assert in this blog, an organizational commitment to a coaching process that evokes commitment from those doing the coaching is likely the most overlooked – and most consequential – tactic of all the strategies wealth management firms could deploy to drive growth.
