🌱 Zagreb's Local Action Plan for Urban Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Promotion Event! 📅 On October 2nd, 2024, our #GreenScape CE lead partner, North West Croatia Regional Energy and Climate Agency (REGEA) , participated in a successful event in Zagreb, featuring a stimulating workshop that introduced the key missions and accomplishments of our project while focusing on enhancing urban environments through green infrastructure! 🏙️ 🌳 The event was part of the Urban Forum 2024, where we celebrated our efforts to integrate NbS into urban spaces and outlined their impacts on adapting to climate change. 🌍 💡 Key highlights: 📌 Opening remarks by Miljenko Sedlar, head of the Climate Department at REGEA, emphasized the significance of creating a Local Action Plan for NbS in Zagreb, turning ideas into action and ensuring a sustainable, greener city. 🌿✨ 🤝 Networking opportunities with over 35 attendees, including local authorities, NGOs, SMEs, and community representatives, facilitated discussions on bio-solar roofs, green connectivity, and technical challenges. 🌱🌞 💬 The event featured a Slido feedback session, inviting input on key issues related to green infrastructure and urban planning. 🙌 A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this event! 🌿 Contributing to Greener Urban Spaces Across Central Europe 🌍 In Central Europe, an innovative initiative is helping contribute to greener, more sustainable urban spaces! 🌱✨ The Visual Mapping Platform (GVMP), developed as part of the Interreg #GreenScape CE project, supports cities in climate-proofing through renaturing efforts. 🗺️ What is GVMP? It's an interactive map-based platform that enhances the planning of green and blue infrastructure—think parks, greenways, rivers, and lakes in urban areas! It offers three powerful tools:  🔹 Accessibility Tool: Analyzes how easily citizens can access green spaces. 🚶♀️🌳  🔹 Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) Tool: Evaluates sustainable infrastructure solutions. 🌾🏘️  🔹 Connectivity Tool: Assesses how well green spaces are connected. 🌐🌻  These tools help cities plan and implement effective green infrastructure, boosting urban resilience to climate change! 🌍💪 💡 Why is it Important? GVMP's visual maps and simulation tools make planning and communication easier for everyone. City planners, local governments, and residents can see the current state of green and blue infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement. 🌳🌿 Our #GreenScape Project Shines at the 8th Street Greening Conference! 🌟 We are thrilled to share that our partners from Poland who are coordinators from the Public Roads Authority in Warsaw, recently participated in the 8th Street Greening Conference in Poznan, Poland! 📅 Held on June 18th, 2024, and organized by Dendros training company, this national event brought together green infrastructure enthusiasts from across the country. Our partners, represented by  Monika Domanowska, the coordinator of the GreenScape project in Warsaw's Roads Authority, took the stage as one of the keynote speakers, delivering an inspiring presentation showcasing exemplary retention and rain gardens in Warsaw. 🌧️🏙️   🔍 Monika also shared the exciting objectives of the GreenScape project and highlighted our innovative pilot project focused on transforming Wilenska Street into a model "sponge-city" concept. 🌆💧 🙌 We're incredibly proud of our Polish partners and the entire GreenScape team for their dedication and hard work in promoting sustainable urban development.
