The world needs you as you are! The holidays are a time of joy, but they can also bring unique challenges, especially when it comes to food and managing health conditions amidst festive gatherings. Remember, it’s okay to take care of your needs and make choices that are best for you. Your well-being is important, and it’s perfectly fine to prioritize it even during family time and holiday meals. Stay encouraged and true to yourself! Neil Israel, LSSGB #diabetesmanagement

📘 Key to Success: To make a product successful, you need to use “negative thinking.” That means turning it from “It would be nice to have” into “I can’t live without it.” 🤔 Biases Affect Innovation: Sometimes, our preconceived ideas can stop us from being creative. Like in sports, if we believe a team always wins, we might not see other possibilities. 💡 Framing Matters: How information is presented can change our decisions. Imagine choosing a doctor based on how they describe a procedure. People often pick the one with a 90% success rate over one with a 10% failure rate. 🏀 Sports Example: Think of a team you love. Imagine if they always won. Would you still watch? Maybe not! Sometimes, challenges make sports more exciting. 💉 Managing Diabetes: For adults with diabetes, social factors like access to healthy food and exercise can be as important as medicine. Just like in sports, having the right resources makes a big difference. In diabetes management, adopting a “not-not” mindset means viewing reliable insulin or medical devices as essential, not just desirable. It shifts the perspective from “It would be good to have a working insulin pump” to “I can’t manage my diabetes effectively without a reliable insulin pump.” This approach underscores the critical importance of dependable medical devices for people with diabetes, making them indispensable for maintaining health, rather than just an added convenience. ⚕️💪 Hope this helps! 😊 Merrick Furst @matt Jordan King Isis Ashford-Swain

Ben West - Culture destroys technology! #diabetesmanagement In the landscape of health tech, especially within the realm of #diabetesmanagement, I’m reminded daily that technology is only a part of the equation. As a technologist, I’ve come to understand that no matter how advanced or sophisticated our solutions are, they must resonate with the cultural fabric they intend to serve. It’s not just about data points or algorithms; it’s about understanding the lived experiences of those with diabetes. Our goal should be to create technology that feels like a #naturalextension of daily life, blending seamlessly into the diverse tapestry of lifestyles and traditions. Innovating in diabetes health tech means listening to the heartbeats of the communities we aim to support — it’s about culturally informed design that #acknowledges and #celebrates the unique ways people manage their health. So, as we chart the path forward in creating transformative diabetes management tools, let’s remember the mantra that has become a cornerstone of the approach: Culture beats technology. By embracing this, we ensure that our technological advancements are not just accepted but are genuinely sought after, leading to meaningful behavior change and better health outcomes. #cultureintech #healthinnovation #diabetescare Neil Israel, LSSGB Amy Tenderich Ana Morrissey Isis Ashford-Swain Jordan King
